I went for a visit on a hot day in May and saw a clear river running through campus with women everywhere laying out in bikinis. I said "where do I sign up". Love that place. So pretty, literally

After their first two seasons at their respective schools:

Coach 1 went 11-13 (Salary $4 million/season)
Coach 2 went 11-14 (Salary $5.1 million/season)

Both coaches were blown out by Iowa State by more than 3 touchdowns.

Both coaches replaced the career coaching wins leaders at their respective schools who were unceremoniously dumped (one went 6-6 his final season but never had a losing season, the other 8-5 with 1 losing season)

Both coaches went 1-1 vs. Baylor their first two seasons.

Both coaches lost to an SEC school in humiliating fashion in the only bowl game their school went to in those seasons.

Both coaches were outscored by 21+ points in each of their losses in their first season at their respective schools.

One coach was given a CONTRACT EXTENSION after year 2.

Both were blown out at home in the final home game of their initial season by over 30 points.

Our conference track meet was at texas state my freshman year. After going for a warm up around campus before the 5k I wanted to transfer based off if the 5 or so girls I saw. All solid 8's at minimum.

Well, Sherman actually did worse (25-25 after 4 seasons)

I had never heard about that, so I decided to look it up. He definitely went through a difficult stretch in his early 20's...



"When it seems like too much to handle, Franchione thinks about the day in 1974 when his mother, Theda, died of cancer.

And he thinks about the next day when his father, Pete, began a seven-mile drive from Miller, Mo., to Pittsburg, Kan., to view his wife at a funeral home.

A half-mile from the house, Pete Franchione got out of his car and shot himself in the chest. On the following Tuesday, Franchione, whose wife had just given birth to a baby boy, buried both of his parents.

"It was probably the most difficult thing I've ever gone through in my life," said the 51-year-old Franchione. "To lose my mom to cancer and dad to suicide, that was a real gut-check. I'm sure it had some impact on the way I look at life."
