Right now everyone is calling for Patterson, Peterson, Malzahn etc... just a few years ago there was plenty wanting Miles fired and calling for:

I can honestly say that of that list, I only coveted Brian Kelly as a top 5 or 10 candidate. Never Shannon, and if ever mentioned Sumlin, Schiano or Gill, they were about 12th to 20th on a list.

If Ferentz hadn't turned down Mich in 2007, been rumored to NFL next one day, and his wife planted those tree seedlings in Iowa..he'd still be a hot commodity.
KF's W-L mark must be somewhat graded on a curve. As with Hayden Fry as an elite HC..they are in a waspy white wasteland of farmland..not much talent except wrestlers and whatnot.
