I wasn't trying to dis Miles.

Sure, any successful coach can be difficult to replace but ya gotta admit, searching after Saban and Miles will be A LOT easier than the search that took place after Hallman.

But really, even though we were good with Arnsparger, we were not as high profile as we are right now. And I LOVED Arnsparger!

We won the SEC in Archer's first year with far less talent relative to our opponents than a new coach would have next year should Les leave.

Um, to use your own response.

Duke =/= LSU

LSU is a LOT closer to UF hiring status than Duke is to LSU.

Why are you bellyaching? I'm not saying I am HOPING we have to search. I'm merely pointing out that if you MUST search for a coach, you just really can't ask to be in a better position than LSU is to do so.

Like I said, change can always result in poor results.

But, again, to restate. Look on the bright side. If you MUST search for a coach, it's kind of nice to be able to do so when your cupboard is full, you have a high national profile and you can pay pretty damned well.

Let's face it, if Michigan didn't have a home boy to call, they'd be fricked and they are MICHIGAN for chrissakes!!

Well, um, Duke isn't exactly a coaching mecca. Who do you think was applying for the job?

Look, if you're committed to looking at this in the most negative light possible I guess I can't stop you.

But AGAIN, if YOU had to go on a coaching search, I'm going to assume that you'd rather be in THIS AD's shoes than an AD who is searching after a season that imploded and following two or three mediocre recruiting classes. Correct?
