Anybody that it takes 20 years to learn how to recruit...I'm not interested, it's not brain surgery!

I hope LSU gives him a look if he's interested! I would take him in a second before Saban or Spurrier.

And I like all for the criteria you've laid out...(young, up and coming head coach at a small successful program, etc.) if it comes to that.

BUT, really think the JDR move, while not the norm, could be a great fit!

Del Rio leaving the NFL for college at this point in his career makes no sense to me.

I'm not saying it makes sense, but there is an awful lot of smoke around this one.

Maybe it's lifestyle, the NFL is very, very demanding.

Maybe there are family reasons we don't know about that make them really want to be in Louisiana.

We don't know what makes him tick.

Just for argument sake he is interested. Do you think he is a great choice? This has been the main point of frustration.

Since we are "arguing"-- the three major players that keep showing up (on here) are JDR, SS and "the great Sabinski" (can talk simultaneously out of both sides of his mouth and his arse, and disappear in mid-job!) I honestly think that none of them WILL be the next HC at LSU. But of the 3 Del Rio is the best in my opinion. Do I have to get on the bandwagon now, or can I wait to see if there's a better connection on the METRO?

I can't tell the difference between legit smoke and smoke created on here.

Oh, absolutely. I think he was my first choice back in '04, though I thought him leaving the NFL was curious then as well. j But Hot Carl is down with JDR.

For what it's worth Bobby Hebert, Del Rio's camp roomate with the Saints and T-Bob's old man, and Mike Scarborough have both said he is interested.

I understand where you're coming from, Carl. But, in the college game, you have a much better chance at controlling your destiny.

Plus, the money is in college football as opposed to college baseball. You don't see many MLB managers going to the college ranks, I'd imagine, because the money isn't there.

Del Rio was supposedly interested last time we went through this....so I have a little hope.

Day 2. Dr EdgeLSU is banned from this thread also IMHO.

And the answer is - Del Rio's wife has him by the nuts. Its not that hard.
