I made some phone calls to some of my high level Lafayette sources and Del Rio's wife is desperate to move back to Lafayette. I was told that Del Rio is waiting for Bickey Rustle to get fired at ULaLa next year so he can be the Howard Schnellenberger of RajinCajin football and fulfill his wife's dream of coming home again.

Wow. You really need to lay off the heavy drugs, man. You seem to be the only person who actually is too much of a bleeding vagina to stand having to debate something with someone. It's amazing that some people on this board (definitely not you) have been willing to have a conversation about Jack Del Rio, instead of sporting a raging hard-on for the guy, no questions asked. Jack Del Rio should not get this job cause he played baseball with that roidhead Mark McGwire and he lost his starting MLB job to Zach Thomas in Miami.

BTW someone asked why would JDR be considering leaving the NFL for CFB.
an NFL coach works 50 weeks a year, 12 hours a day, there is no offseason. A CFB HC works very hard 7 days a week for 7 mos, then is basically off 5 mos.
Immediately after the playoffs ends most NFL coaches take two weeks off and then begin the pre-draft work from February to April. After the draft the mini-camps and FA evaluation and signing period kicks off and goes through the summer. In August Fall Camp starts and the HC is gone for three weeks from his family. Once the season starts, NFL coaches work 7 days a week all day and half the night. then the season ends and it is all started over again.
A CFB coach starts with fall camp in August at his school and goes home every night. Then the season starts and they work 7 days a week. they are on the road a bit during the season recruiting but most of that falls on assistant coaches. Once the season ends they hit the road hard for one month (January) recruiting then national signing day comes in February. After signing day, the CFB HC is basically off only doing some light recruiting and booster stuff until July when the football camps start, but the recruits come to your campus. The HC is around the office a lot but he is not allowed to work with the players directly during off season conditioning. Then in August it all starts again.
So for basically the same money as an NFL coach makes, JDR could come to LSU and work about 1/3 less than he is right now. Not bad if you think about it in those terms.

Jack Del Rio is also a member of Delta Chi and was drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays. That is both gay and un-American.

Chris Landry the ex-NFL scout said this exact thing about the differences between the two jobs. Plus, Del Rio's wife obviously has him by the nuts as well. Not to mention better job security and MUCH easier success.

and yeah Max, I have heard Chris Landry say that stuff before. Landry is by far my favorite CFB/NFL analyst, he is what Mike Detillier wants to be.
