One more thing

Apparently, according to a guy who was on the team at the time and in this meeting, this part did not happen.

What suggests to you the last incident in question was tacked on?

funny read on coach O but it did not translate into success

Not as the head man it didn't. I don't know if I want the HC doing that craziness, but the DL coach I would be all for it. Get some passion back in this team.

COME ON DOWN COACH O!! PLEASE!!!

At least it was his shirt and not pants.

It probably was added on. I'm not 100% sure that I want coach O recruiting for LSU anyways. With some of the stories I heard from this same player (who participated in recruits visits; i.e. was their tour guide apparently) I would rather not have him and his recruiting tactics at LSU. Supposedly, he would just straight face lie to recruits about future positions and such just to get them on campus (spare me the everybody lies line). Cue Urban Meyer jokes now

Clay weighs in today on the news about Chavis:

Tennessee's defense finished #4 in the country last year and was good enough to win an SEC Title. In fact, UT's defense gave up less yards per play run against them than any team in the SEC last year.

Let me try and put that into LSU fan perspective. Jarrett Lee gave up 7 touchdowns on returned picks. John Chavis's UT defense gave up 14 playing an entire season (*and two of those came after turnovers gave the other team the ball inside the Tennessee 5 yd line).

Malaveto had two week sto prepare for Florida this year

Whoa! I don't think anybody did a great job of stopping Florida -- Bama did the best and TN and Chavis about second best. The Gators left everybody in the dust. We didn't help ourselves with 2 interceptions and a fumble that gave Tebow 2 short fields and a pick 6 TD.

No rewriting history here - that was not quite the debacle it's made out to be.

It only got out of hand because Miles started taking chances with short fields in an attempt to WIN the game late in the 3rd q.

Up until mid - 3Q, that was still a game - even with UF's gift touchdowns.

Dude, Florida scored on 9 of their 12 drives. And, one of the 3 that they didn't score on ended in a fumble.

Florida's Drives in that game:

.3 plays..68 yards..TOUCHDOWN
11 plays..77 yards..FIELD GOAL
.7 plays..41 yards..TOUCHDOWN
.4 plays..10 yards..PUNT
.3 plays...7 yards...PUNT
11 plays..63 yards..FIELD GOAL
.8 plays..67 yards..TOUCHDOWN
.4 plays..60 yards..TOUCHDOWN
.1 play..- 3 yards...FUMBLE

Florida arse raped our defense

4 of their TD drives were 60 yards or more, and they had 6 total drives of at least that length in the game

Yep. It felt like we were in the game because LSU scored on consecutive possessions at the end of the first half and then immediately at the beginning of the 2nd half without Florida touching the ball.

The truth is that we didn't really slow down that offense at all that night. Florida scored at will.

You could give Malleveto 2 YEARS to prepare for Florida, and the results would be the same!
