that would be a really good hire for Kentucky

This would be a great hire for UK. I like Jones alot.

I'm thinking a team like Cal will take a look at Petrino. He needs to be as far away from the SEC to be able to recruit again.
And Butch Jones would be a pretty good hire for UK. He's followed Brian Kelly at both CMU and Cincy and did a great job of keeping Kelly's success. Could do good things at UK.

It's a bit underwhelming but he's better then majority of the names floated. And he gives us that Ohio connection.

It would be a great hire, but I have no idea why he'd want the job. A step down, IMO.

agreed but they'll probably have to offer up some cash and also give jones the inclination that they plan on changing the football culture and start spending more on it. kinda like vandy and franklin. UK would be easier to fix IMO than vandy and franklin is proving it's possible. i mean the guy has a top 20 recruiting class at a school that i don't think the entire UGA 2 deep could get in there

Already working on it. Early next year, UK officials are going to the state to request $120 million in bonds to put towards football improvements.
Plus, look ho0w much Jones is getting paid at Cincy, I think we can give him a nice pay raise and be in a BCS conference (Big East is losing its place).

Get on board. Anyway, we will see if he takes the job...if he has been offered. It could be a smokescreen for the real target.

Would be a good one imo.

Oh, I will support him, but think we could do better.... Losing at home to Rutgers without scoring a TD sounds really depressing to pull for...

He was my second choice all along after Petrino. And from his perspective he can get a big raise, an SEC job, and not even have to move his family.

You're getting ready to see the Big East lose their AQ and possibly the whole of their conference. They could've went undefeated this season and still not got into the mNC despite all the one-loss teams because of conference strength. A Big East job right now is far more dead-end then any SEC job. Even Kentucky.

That would be like putting a heroin addict in a poppy field.

Well, he would get torn apart trying to recruit in the SEC at this point. Maybe a Big 10 team would look at him. I think he would do well in the Pac 12 though.
