Anybody think a well-known SEC program with a couple of NCs under its belt could lure him away from Boise? He's got to be tired of winning for nothing.

For one, he is gonna get a ton of shite for being a Scientologist, even by his own fan base. Second, what makes you think having a decent team in the third shittiest conference in the country is going to translate into the best conference in the country at a die hard school like LSU? Third, we need a guy with strong ties to the south for recruiting purposes (at least Les had a lot of expirience in Texas, etc).

because he's never coached in the south, he's never recruited in the south, he's never coached a team that has had play more than 3 tough opponents in one season. There are rumors that he is a scientologist. And no one that has come from Boise has ever succeeded when they've moved on to BCS conferences, the closest thing to success for former Boise coaches is Houston Nutt.

I doubt any team that isn't in the Pacific Northwest would take a chance on this guy in a BCS conference. Maybe a desperate B12 team. That's about it. Dan Hawkins was a failure at CU.

Don't forget Dirk Koetter was a failure at Arizona State, and he also came from Boise.
As did Houston Nutt, who also came from Boise.

The person who said Boise has 3 opponents on their schedule was confusing them with Texas Christian. Boise has not played 3 decent opponents in the same regular season, EVER.

I want to address "better shot at the BCS".
I think being the only good team in a conference is the easiest way to get into the NC game.

Boise is a unique situation in a shite league. Koeter and his mentor Dan at Colorado failed bad. Scratch him off any list.

Do not discount the importance of religion (his scientology). If he is at some recruit's mommas house and she asks him to say grace or whether junior will be led by a Christian man, his only out is to wax eloquently about Xenu and the space aliens. Many booster types who may be religious would never let this fly. You don't have to be devout or a minister, but you can't be totally off the reservation when it comes to religion.

I did a bit of research and someone in the MW cnference posted that not only is Petersen a member of scientology, but he had Tom Cruise on the sidelines at a game.
