why the frick would Michigan want this guy? people say "oh! well look at the job hes done at boise st! he'd be great!"

newsflash: dan hawkins had the same type of success at BSU and he was awful when he got into a real conference.

makes no sense.

Hawkins couldn't lace up Pederson's boots. He's taken that program to a new level. Any BSU fan will tell you Coach Pete was the reason for their success under Hawkins.

Dan Hawkins lost 11 games in 5 seasons at BSU
Chris Petersen has lost 5 in 5 seasons.

While 5 losses in 5 years isnt bad at all, neither is 11 in 5. You know every one you would love LSU to ONLY lose 2 games a year for a 5 year period.

I would be willing to put down a ton of money on the fact that petersen would not even come close to the success hes had at BSU at Michigan.

It's like RR. He was the hot name when he left WV and people thought he'd be great. Problem was, he was at WVU playing weak opponents. Same with Petersen at BSU.

Fact.

You kiddng me? People couldn't stand losing 2 games a year for a 3 year period.

He walked into a better situation at UF than Hawkins did at CU.

That is a decent size difference, and Peterson was there under Hawkins, the success could easily be attributed to him.

For every Rich Rod there is an Urban Meyer, so whats your point?

How could you not be impressed what Peterson has done

I think Boise would have beat TCU

A lot harder to get players to come to Mormonville Idaho than Dallas, yet everyone trips over Patterson, doesn't make sense

They are both great, but don't diminish what Chris Peterson has done and is doing

colorado got worse every year hawkins was in charge. and thats besides the point. point being- it is possible to go from midmajor to major leagues and have success.

Petersen is an amazing coach. Not just for what he has done with BSU but he's also a very classy guy.

really??? show me again where i was critical of his class.

and i get what hes done at BSU. i get it. i do. but im saying he wouldnt do that at michigan.

yall think he'd be good b/c he did great things at a weak school in a weak conf.

like i said earlier, thats what they thought about RR. they thought he would be great b/c he did great things at WVa.

Swanky if what Peterson has done is so easy, why can't other non-AQs do it?

There are a ton of weak schools in weak conferences that can't touch what Peterson has accomplished at Boise.
