Mutually parted ways is a nice way of saying let go. Many coaches take analyst roles the year of a firing.

Long was a broyles award finalist and came in the year after notre dame was 4-8.

They went 33-6 the next 3 years with long calling plays and made the 2018 playoffs

His offenses were top 25 twice in those 3 years.

I know he took over for will hall at tulane since they run similar offenses. Seems like he should've been able to get a better job.

He runs an up tempo offense more pro style.
