While the rationale of your idea that it could be defended due to the presently sitting coach having a less than desired resume still doesn't make it a great one. The theory that O or anyone would come to terms contractual to anything less than a multiple year deal that would guarantee the appearance of longevity and stability that every program needs in order to sustain recruiting the best student/athletes is preposterous.

FYI- every school that O has coached has been the best job that he's ever had and the school that he has always desired being at.

O and his offensive game plan put up 10 points COMBINED against florida and bama (only 2 decent defenses we played all year). He also embarrassed the AD with this whole Florida debacle. Alleva is not gonna hire him (nor should he). I 100% assure you of that.

What makes you think O would even accept such a disrespectful deal when he could sign a multi-year coaching deal elsewhere with more stability?

The O-bots will do anything to get a proven loser hired on at LSU.

No.

It sounds good but when you do that, it will hurt recruiting. He is from down the Bayou like I am and love to see him get a chance one day, but now ant the time. He is not a top tier coach yet and is way better as the DL/Recruiting coordinator.

Maybe this is how it works... and it sounds like the better half of you ended up as a cum stain on your mom's mattress.

I was referring to the spirit of the agreement not necessarily the actual terms: structure the contract as a mulit-year deal reserving LSU unilateral rights of termination with no buyout; it effectively works as a year-to-year deal although it is ostensibly otherwise
You thinking there's any chance O would accept that deal is kinda crazy that you're that far detached from the reality of this situation.

Again, maybe this is how it works... and maybe it might even be the right call.
