He has to become a DC now right? Can’t be another HC somewhere.

Whoever new Arkansas coach is should snatch him up.

Maybe he can come back to UF as DC. USF needs to get a good hire. I would love to see Kiffin at USF of an SEC team is not going to hire him.

He was an abomination as a Head Coach.
Respect him as a man and mentor, the players genuinely seemed to love him.
He leaves the football program at USF in a total mess. Among the worst attendance in program history. A terrible win/loss record for his entire tenure.
I get it, its a commuter school with no on-campus stadium in the same State as UF, FSU and Miami. That said, it’s the AAC... The expectations aren’t that high. With the talent available combined with the overall weak Conference you shouldn’t be winning less than 7-8 games year in and year out. And every few years you should get a good run.
Good riddance...

I see this a lot, and it shouldn't matter. The sheer number of recruits coming out of that state is ridiculous.
4-5 Florida teams could split all the top players evenly and still have more NFL talent than the rest of the country.

Agreed, there’s a huge amount of talent here. Even if the Big 3 snatch up the best of the best USF should be able to get a Quentin Flowers or JPP type player every few years.
It’s not like the training facilities are bad. They are quite good for the AAC and getting better. The University has 52,000 students, it’s making plenty of money.
I nothing else, UCF has proven that investing in an on-campus stadium plus quality Coaches will eventually pay off. Hopefully USF will follow suit.

Ingot to know Charlie when he was at SC, we were friends, enough so that he let me break the news when he decided to leave SC for UF.
Charlie is an outstanding human being and a damn fine recruiter. He could be a HC at the right school, he just hasn't found it yet .... or it hasn't found him.
I do not believe Charlie is the defensive guru some like to give him credit for being. He's also getting some age on him these days and I am not sure he would be very productive as a DC in today's environment. Not in the SEC and not in the B1G. Maybe in the ACC if he could adapt and be willing to take a backseat role of that nature.

Strong is not a good coach. Teddy Bridgewater helped him win a bunch of games at Louisville and that got him the job at Texas.
