He got coastal rolling and continued his success in year 1 at Liberty

Who is going to take a chance on him?

His system with SEC talent would be fun as hell to watch

We are going to call and try but he has a pretty big buyout and liberty can pay him. I think he'll wait it out on a bigger name but who knows

He'd be a great fit at Arkansas. The state produces stud rbs left and right , and he can promise touches to all of them.

No idea how he isn't lead candidate for a lot of these jobs. He did what Napier did at coastal, but no one did it at coastal before him. Whereas Napier had a coach win 10 just a few yrs prior to him at ULL. They won 3 and 5 wins the years prior to him, and 5 in his first yr.

After that, 11-1, 11-2, 9-4, and now undefeated at liberty. Beat big game b, Kansas, byu, and 1 loss in 2020 was 3 pts to liberty. 2 losses in 2022 were by 2 and 3 pts each.

Because there's a stigma associated with being a triple option guy. Might as well lump him in with the under-center flexbone guys because that's essentially what his offensive system is.

Sun belt east was also much stronger top to bottom than the west.

Some of those years ULL was the only team above .500 in the west.

I said that when we hired Kelly and got pummeled on this board.

He was a far better candidate than Napier.

His success is reproducible as well.

He did it at north Greenville and Charleston southern before coastal.

He is urban Meyer with a southern accent

The good ole boy Christian act at A&M would play very well with that fanbase.

Luckily I think they are going to after a bigger fish

well to be fair....arkansas isnt exactly lighting the world on fire trying to stay more traditional. wtf they have to lose?

i personally think arky is crazy to not go after him.

1 off offenses work in the SEC to get you to 8 or 9 wins consistently. look at leech.

I agree he's got a stong resume, but I can understand wanting to see more of his tenure at Liberty. What he's doing this year he's doing with Freeze's recruits. I'm not saying it's the same, but Aranda looked really good with Rhule's recruits in year 1 at Baylor.

Man, he is so religious, I could see him not leaving there. He is a super religious dude, Liberty is the perfect fit for him.

If I was a big name program I would not touch him yet. He is winning with Hugh freezes recruits. He needs to stay there a couple more years.

He kind of is what he is at this point. The Sun Belt was a tougher league and his system translated from FCS to there just fine, just like it did from lower divisions before. He pretty clearly took the Liberty gig because it’s a religious school and because of the much nicer paycheck.

Chadwell getting his guys in won’t matter there. Liberty has more money and talent than the rest of CUSA combined. If he was going to lose games, it would have been this year while changing systems. He’s just going to get more dominant until either someone hires him or the AAC gets smart and moves Liberty up a couple of notches.

A poster in a thread on him yesterday said he’s loves Appalachian/Blue Ridge country and is holding out for a gig somewhere in that area. West Virginia wont do anything this year, but is still bound to make a move at some point. That fanbase would probably love getting back to a different kind of system than others are running. VA Tech is only 5-5 and won’t wait around forever, either. He may count his money at Liberty and just wait for whichever opens up first.

State would be crazy to not make a play for him now, though. Chadwell’s wife evidently didn’t care for Cleveland, MS, but I can absolutely understand that. Starkville is a lot nicer town, but if he’s prefers the east coast and mountains, then it may still be a tough sell. But I think he would be a problem there and their fans would love him.

You ever heard of Joe Moglia?

Chadwell inherited the program that Moglia built.

so his two previous stops where he did the same thing dont count?

this isnt his first HC job like aranda. he has done the same thing at his 2 previous stops and built coastal into a power house in the sunbelt.

Sunbelt Billy is the first coach in the Cajuns history to bring a 10 or more wins to Lafayette.

Exactly correct. Prying him away from Liberty won't be easy.

My friend's son is the backup QB (McCall's backup) at Coastal. So I got a lot of info on them and Chadwell directly from players.
