No. you need to pay attention or at least listen to the other side.
Its not that I don't think Les would go to Michigan IF offered. I agree, he might do it for less money (no pun intended).
My question has always been the top guy on UM's list, given there seems to be some bad blood between hin and Carr, I'm not convinced he's the only guy they would offer

Just go already I mean crap. Even if Les is not on the sidelines I still think we win out. I dont care who we play. If his heart is at Michigan make a statement and go. I support whatever he would want to do.

keep this in mind. From 1918-1945, the Big Ten did not allow its teams to participate in bowls
Seaux what? Not our problem.
The factoids cited by the Tiger fan are solid.

I want to throw out something in this thread that I think is very wrong....Carr will not prevent Miles from being the next head coach at Michigan. Coaches generally don't name their successors for a reason (Skip, Smoke). The departing coach will be extremely biased from both sides. In the instance of Skip, he couldn't look past everything that Smoke was for him. For the same reason, Carr could hold something against Miles that he shouldn't. The departing coach should not have unweighted influence for many reasons....it's bad all the way around.
I'm not saying he is going, just saying that Michigan will not let Carr have undue influence over the situation. Carr is stepping down for a reason. And while Michigan loves and respects Carr, Bo is an icon. And if they see Miles as another Bo, Carr's words will carry little weight in regards to feelings against Miles.

Carr kind of strikes me as being a dick ... an old, grumpy, dickhead. I don't know if his comments today were directed at or in reference to Miles or not.
What I would like to see happen ... is that, IF Miles is interested, he have his rep contact Carr or whomever makes the decision at Mich, and frankly ask if he's in consideration or not. If he's not, then Miles can come out and say, 100% definitely (and since he's not Nick Saban, we can believe him)) that he's not going to Mich. Miles owes it to LSU not to string this out. If he's going, LSU needs time to line up a great replacement for him.

I never made any disparaging comment on LSU, so I don't understand the attacks.
Welcome to the Rant.
You're lucky...it's late and most of the Ranters are offline. The attacks would be much more severe.

UM beat Arkansas, Alabama, Florida, and Auburn in bowl games in a 5 year span (99-03). They did have a loss to Tennessee in that span. That's 4-1 against the SEC in 5 years. Speed must have been somewhat equal then.

That's what I am saying...IF he is offered , UM can offer him something $ can't buy. Now you MAY be right and he won't be offered

LSU was 54-58 in the 90s. How much arse kicking is that? Besides, who cares about the past, both are elite programs now. That's all that matters.

Hey...I'm not looking micro at UM or trying to dog them. I am looking at the macro trend , but IT IS CYCLICAL I agree

I just don't get this sentiment. Miles is paid to do one thing, win football games. He's not paid to answer questions about other jobs. If others ask, or inquire, it's not his job and he doesn't owe it to anyone to address the questions. Put yourself in his shoes and you would change your mind. As fans it's difficult, but try to rationalize it for a second.

If Miles stays, great! If he goes Good Luck!
We still win NC!

Recruiting takes a big hit is one reason for it.

Live in the moment ...what is past is behind you....let tomorrow come...Zen philosophy I think , but it's the truth

fair enough,
the reason I think he's not going, is that I think they won't offer him, or more accurately, I think They'll go after someone else.

Yes, because I don't think they'll wait until then to start the process.
I the more I think about it they could stay in house and go with English or hire someone with ties to the area, like Ferentz or Kelly
