I apologize but I think this is Bernie Sanders math.

I just don't see how we can pay 15 million to send Les packing and another 4-5 million a year to hire a new coach.

Am I missing something here?

Long time Les fan but I agree it is time to make a change. Unfortunately I can't see how we can afford it. It drops 3.9 million after Jan 1 FWIW

His buyout is most likely spreadout over the length of the contract.

Lol your school sounds poor.

Better explanation than "We will send a bill to Mexico to pay for it". Cheers

spread out over 8-10 years. it wouldn't be bad at all.

pay 1.9 million for 8 years.

buyout is not an issue and has been overblown.

We do have a live mascot instead of a bird or hounds tooth hat. We do ok but 15 million sounds like a lot of money to throw out the window.

Auburn had Dye, Bowden and Tubberville all on their payroll at once. Surely LSU has more money than AU.....

UNA has 2 live mascots (Lions). I don't think that is an indication of what a school can afford to pay or not pay.

How much does Mike the Tiger make per season?

Glassman is handling the buyout himself.

Contract calls for buyout amount to be paid over twice the remaining months at the time of termination without cause. So 8 years of let go after A&M game.

How much money does the athletic foundation donate back to the school after the season? 10-20 mill?

Turns out they don't have to do that

could just keep Miles another year, dump Cam and Peveto, and give it another year. Got a good recruiting class coming in to help shore up the defense. Offense side of the ball doesn't lose much and should be much improved as well. With bigger better players on the D front 7 and clean up the mistakes and poor execution on the offense side of the ball with a better OC and we should be competitive for the SEC title next year.

We lose both OT, all three LBs, Dural, Mills, White, and Logan.

We have hardly any talent behind some of these positions. You think Freshman are going to make us better?

Next year is on par of talent at best. How much better can LF and Harris realistically get in one year?

We could realistically pay an new, proven OC 500k-750k less than Cam, would not be insulting, and applying the difference to Miles contract is nothing.

$15 mil is a piss drop in the bucket for whoever is making the decision to let CLM go.
