He is full of shite, lol. We went over every defensive minded coach in college football. He said they had head coaching experience. I looked at current defensive coordinators in the NFL that were former head coaches in college. I looked at current head coaches in college with a defensive background. The results are very slim pickings as far as a big hire. It’s narrowed down to a few guys. Everyone knows their names(Kirby Smart, Lanning, etc.). That only leaves names like Kyle Whittingham from Utah who is not a splash hire. The guy from North Carolina State who wouldn’t be a big hire. Manny Diaz, lol. Need I say more.

That's only his UO buyout. That neglects his deferred compensation package from Phil Knight/Nike. If you kick the tires with his agent, you get the full answer. And LSU wouldn't be the first to kick the tires

The misled information was that the coach was currently coaching right now.

Saban is the only one that would qualify as a nuclear bomb. Maybe Urban Meyer would qualify too. But Jimbo, Stoops, Gruden, Franklin…hiring those guys now would be more head scratching than anything else. Verge adamantly denied Saban today. So did Pate and Herbstreit. Unless it’s just a giant secret they’re trying to keep under wraps.
