He did well at G5 schools before, so I wouldn’t be surprised if this worked out. Some aren’t made to be head coaches at major colleges.

He would do well at a school like that.

Tyfys Lyle but Bama has been ruin’t and you can go offset that buyout now

Butch looks like every kid in elementary school who flipped his eyelids inside out and mixed his chocolate milk in his mash potatoes for attention

I think he can do well at a place like that.

Seems like a good place for Lyle.

He also coached at Cincinnati, which is a "major college" (good lord) and which at the time was a member of the Big East, a BCS league at that time.
Just like a school that loses its coach every 3 or so years will eventually hire a dud, a coach who job hops will eventually land somewhere where it doesn't work out.

A Skip Holtz style move and he'll probably do well like Holtz has.

The Big East wasn’t really considered by most as deserving to be referred to as a major conference then. Miami and Virginia Tech had left around 2002 and Pitt and Syracuse were on their way out. Football wise, I wouldn’t say Cincinnati was a “major college”. Cincinnati was one of the schools that were raided from Conference USA in 2005.
