What is the definition of "Right Now" ?
Lol exactly. Does he mean “now” as in the exact moment he said it b/c he hasn’t been offered something better or “now” as in he’s staying for a few years? Either one could be true.

That conference will be a G5 conference soon and no one will get a playoff bid from there

If Dave is looking at the changes coming in the next few years, staying put at Baylor makes a lot of sense. He is about to see OU and TU head to the SEC, taking away the two primary contenders year in and year out for the B12 title. That leaves basically Baylor and Okie State as the next two to dominate that league.
They will likely add some okay teams to the conference to maintain some level of P5 quality, but the real kicker is that the playoffs will expand anyway. Winning the B12 with Baylor may not be an auto-bid now, but there's a good chance in the new version of the playoffs that winning that conference will be a reasonable path to the playoffs.
Staying at Baylor could be a very successful, calculated move.

Oregon isn’t going after Kelly.

Adding G5 teams doesn’t make a conference P5. With Texas and Oklahoma gone the B12 conference strength of schedule will be in par with the mountain west or AAC.
Expanding playoff will be their only hope.

I think Dave is actually being truthful when he says he doesn't want to leave Baylor right now. I know that's rare, but he seems pretty genuine about it.
He might have just done it as a courtesy.
