I'm pretty conflicted. I feel like its selling your soul to get wins.

I have no doubts we'll land big recruits, probably get a bump in Florida recruiting, and win a lot of games.

I don't like Urban, I think he's a pompous arse, and I don't like how his teams are either boom or bust it seems like. (For example, his BCS bowl record is amazing, its not that great in non-BCS bowls I believe). I also don't like the "type" of athlete he recruits, I feel like he jizzes over little speedsters and you need some beef in the Big10.

I think he may be the best option for the job.

pretty damn candid response

I'd feel the same way about him coming to LSU though. I HATE his fricking offense.

I don't see how that's a knock on him. He won at fricking Bowling Green. He won at Utah. I'm not concerned at all that he faltered down the stretch at Florida. I think that was more a product of losing Mullen and Strong than losing Tebow.

Not trying to argue, but aren't you contradicting yourself there? Ohio State is by far the SEC'est team in the B1G, but their OL is just plain stupid. Fat and completely lacking in depth.

I would want to see who he gets for a staff before passing judgement (other than the pompous flake part). Hire an OC from an NFL team with a good running game and run a pro-style offense, with some CUM/Harvin-type stuff thrown in.

IIRC, he went undefeated WAY into the '02 season.

How am I contradicting myself? He will land big recruits at skill positions but they will be in the mold of Jeff Demps and Chris Rainey, I don't know how effective they'd be up here.

ETA: I mean big as in hype wise, not physically

Yes, he is 2-0 in National Championship games. He is a marque name that will bring in recruits as well.

Corch is a good hire only if he decides to go all in. if he half asses it like 2010 i don't see his value.

I'm excited with the thought of him being our coach. Beginning of the season I wanted nothing more than for Fickel to do well and take over the program... now, not so much. Like SF said though, Urb's kind of a dick and at times hard to like.

Either way, it would be nice to use his florida connections.
