What a let down it would be for LSU if this comes to fruition. Kelly is 4-7 at ND and has a horrible personality, a total 180 from Les

Doubt there is any chance at all that he is hired. I am sure his agent is spreading this rumor to boost Kelly's stock at ND and elsewhere.

Why in the hell would we hire Kelly when he failed horribly at Notre Dame?

I'll probably be in the minority but while he can be brash, I think he's a very good coach. I don't necessarily want to see him at LSU over the current options that we're weighing, but they sky wouldn't fall for me if it happened. Obviously I'd want Jimbo or Herman, even Coach O with a good OC hire, but it's he's the fall fall fall back option... it's not a bad one.

In fairness, he did get to a BCS NC game at Notre Dame after that program had been a dumpster fire. And ND is always going to be at a disadvantage in recruiting due to their high admission standards.
He did pretty damn good at Central Michigan and Cincinnati...got to BCS bowl 2 out of 3 years.
It would be disappointing though if we got Kelly because would mean we struck out on Herman, Fisher, Fleck and possibly 1 or 2 more. But I'd rather Brian Kelly than Coach O as HC...hopefully O will stay on staff for D-line coach and recruiting.
