Strange for them to wait this long. Wonder if something off the field popped up.

The move is effective January 2nd. I believe that the reason they waited so long is that after the new year his buyout drops from 5 million to 3.4 million.

Just a 5 million dollar buyout on their coach? What lightweights.

Greg Schiano would be perfect there IMO.

Joe Moorehead would be terrific as well.

Uconn waited to make this effective Jan. 2nd when the buyout goes from $5mil to $3mil. Screw Bob Diaco.

Todd Orlando and Joe Moorhead (Penn St. OC) are the leading candidates. Both coached at Uconn under Randy Edsall

UConn is the type of program that needs to hire a coach that can run an innovative spread offense so that they can compete with their talent disadvantage. Schiano would be absolutely no different than Diaco. Schiano's first three seasons at Rutgers were actually worse than Diaco's first three at UConn.

I hope McElwain is on the phone right now trying to hire Diaco as his DC.

I really hope mcElwain hires Diaco. He is awful. Read and react soft zone D, no blitzing....frick that guy.

Yes, UConn fricked him over, but he has the worst record of any UConn head coach since 1920.

No. Clean program, graduating students, just a comete rah rah clown of a coach. Terrible in game, with his decision making (example: taking a knee at the opponents 40 with a Timout and 12 seconds in the half down 14. His reasoning? Didnt want to make a mistake trying to pass the ball to get to FG range).

Don Brown at Michigan would be great for them.

Don Brown also coached at Uconn with Edsall. Just dont know if he'll ever be a HC. I agree though.

Their fans would be thrilled with Les, who they view as a great recruiter. I do t know how he'd recruit in the Northeast though, but he could probably make some friends of HS coaches in NJ and Pennsylvania pretty quickly.
