This is true. 247 was in full meltdown mode when Sonny broke it. We’re 7 days removed from winning the natty and we meltdown over an analyst with one year experience as an OC.

Could it be that the last 2 OC hires for O haven’t planned out.......

And, it should be pointed out that it was Ensminger who recommended Brady, and that was only after meeting with Carmichael. It was a lucky break.

Lucky break like not even winning your division but getting to play for a national championship?

It was extremely lucky and by coincidence for us going to Saints camp.

Everyone saying they have faith in O is being woefully ignorant. He needs to make a homerun hire and do what’s RIGHT, ask E to move back to a TE coach.

As for Wisconsin, you guys aren’t paying your DC big time money, either. Any SEC school outside of Vandy could probably give you a run on salary and the top 6 programs here would all bury you guys based on what you currently pay your staff.

According to the USAToday list, Leonhard would be the highest paid coach at Georgia not named Kirby.

LSU didn't just have to fire, a coach, hire a new coach and when that coach left hire another coach. They might be hurting a bit.

Baylor just received a $6,000,000 cash infusion from the Carolina Panthers. They will be ok.

I’m not sure what everyone’s arguing about.

Bama/OhioSt/LSU/TexasA&M and a few other schools consistently have the highest paid assistant coaching staffs.

The USA Today puts out a spreadsheet every year and you can sort it by total paid to assistants by school. It’s a simple ranking of dollars spent on the staff. There’s no need for opinions, the dollars spent are what they are. Last time I checked, 10 of the top 15 assistant coaching staffs total salaries in the country were SEC schools. Ark/Mizz/MissSt/Vandy are the lowest paid staffs in the SEC.

It’s not about what schools have more money than others. While some indeed do (have more money), it’s more about what schools will allocate to the total assistant coach + analyst pool. And at this point in time, SEC schools in general, especially the top SEC schools, have more money to play with that their ADs allocate to the asst coach pool.

While Baylor is a private school, it is indeed true that LSU - along with quite a few other schools in the SEC and Big10, annually spend substantially more on the assistant coach staff than Baylor.

And honestly one doesn’t really need a financial statement to know that most SEC schools spend more on their staffs than Baylor... it’s common sense.

---A name I am hearing more and more for the OC position is Larry Fedora. I am a fan of that. Stay tuned for more. This could happen soon. Fedora is an Analyst at Texas this past year. He was the HC at North Carolina from 2012 to 2018. Prior to that, he was at Southern Miss for four years. He has a career record of 79-62. I think this would be a good get. Have long thought that Aranda (or McGuire) as a first time head coach would need some HC experience on his staff. He will have that with Roberts, and could have more with Fedora. I don't know if it is a done deal, but seeing more smoke on this.

Just what I’ve inferred from a Baylor POV, it seems that at least one of the two co-OCs (Nixon) is still around so we may stick with him.

I would be extremely impressed with Aranda if his coordinators are Ron Roberts and Larry Fedora.

Wonder if Brandon Harris would go with Fedora as an analyst or something.
