Just posted at 11:42CST that he’s hearing Aranda is new HC.
This insider has had a good track record, is cautious with information and has been spot on so far in the search.

that conference needs some good D...but you have to be great on offense to survive
so that will be interesting because he would be there first defensive minded head coach

He’s earned it. I think our D could use some new life anyway. Lord knows we will find a bad arse DC.

Strange Baylor going with a defensive coach.

I think some would argue Matt Rhule IS a defensive minded coach. Ok that’s being polite, he is a defensive minded coach.
Baylor has been a defensive team since he got there and went to the conference championship based on defense.

ok, that's now I think of Baylor but you're right about this last year

Probably for the best for LSU and Aranda to find someone to give some stability to the position and not wanting to leave.

Baylor didn’t have the players we do but Rhule had that D knocking the hell out of people and swarming. Would wear down against Oklahoma because Offense couldn’t do much. He will need an offensive guru

Chances are you won't get a coordinator who wants to remain a coordinator. Aranda gave more stability to the DC job at LSU than many who are good at their jobs do today.

That would be ideal but if you hire young, that's what you typically get. Stability comes in coaches like Ensminger who've been around a d chased big jobs but are at the stage in their career where they want stability as much as their employer does.

under our current model, it will more than likely always be someone looking to move up.
We had Aranda longer than I originally expected if true

No. Screw promoting from within

Fultons dad was on record saying when the UNlv rumors floated it would be Reymond as DC.

Well then O is a liar. He said he’d hire the best coordinators

I didn't suggest promoting from within
