Based on Jimbo's statement today...

.... I haved moved up my proabaility meter to 90+% Jimbo is headed to Baton Rouge.
His "non-statement" is consistent, based on what I have observed over the past 20 or so years with someone who is leaving.
When he leaves he can say, "I loved my time here in Tallahassee. I thank FSU for giving me the chance to succeed the most successful coach in NCAA history. I will cherish my time here (etc, etc.) ....I had no intention of leaving. I had every intention of staying here the rest of my coaching career (etc., etc.). But, LSU contacted me an as we talked I became intrigued by the challenge and opportunity they offered me (etc. etc.)
He burns no bridges. He leaves on as positive a note as possible.
That is what his statement allows him to do.
And, on the other hand, if there is some last minute glitch (like there was last year) he can say, "I have no idea how those rumors start. As I have said all along, I have no intention of leaving FSU for any other job."
But, anybody who thinks that LSU and Jimbo, through intermediaries, haven't been talking since before Miles was officially fired is sure thinking differently from me.
Now, excuse me, I have to try and come up with a reasonable short list that I speculate will be FSU's list of candidates.
Knee jerk reaction (in no particular order): Gundy, Freeze, Herman (but I think he's a lock for TX) Morris, Fleck and Fedora.
Personally I'm beginning to like the idea of Gundy or Morris.

Dude, you've really grown tired of Jimbo, haven't you?

You're on some good shite if you think there's a 90%+ chance Jimbo is at LSU next year

Why not hire another NC winning coach? Leslie Edwin Miles is your guy!

Do you read the FSU boards by chance?

I think Gundy would be a strong hire for you guys .

Not at all. I just try to look at the coaching carousel as objectively as possible. Try to keep emotions and personal opinions out of it.
I would love for Jimbo to stay at FSU. But, that doesn't mean that I'm going to look at all the information and no matter what the indications are just blindly say, "Jimbo would never leave FSU for LSU."
As I continually say, I know nothing. I know no one who knows anything. I'm just saying that I think he's headed to LSU.

That raise better be $8mil, cause if he doesn't get that out of FSU then it means LSU wasn't ready to pay to win.

Just one, and it is a private board. I don't read Rivals or any of the other boards that have pay content.
I know who Gene Williams is. But, I have no idea what he is saying about this situation.

I'm starting to get the feeling that Ol' Jimbo may be dicking us around. In which case, i hope the rumor about offering Herman within 24-48 hours is true.
