I have never understood this.... why people say other places are better to live that BR??? Wtf? There are a lot of nice places in BR. I would go back in a heartbeat if I could. I love BR it is much nicer than people think.

Not like everyone in Franklin is talking about it. Have a friend who knows his family well. He called and was asking what I knew about Austin as an LSU fan.

His father is on the board of Athletics at Tennessee.

If I had any idea the mere mention of Thomas would get LSU fans this heated, I would have been blowing this shite up month's ago.

I was born in Baton Rouge and my entire family is in Baton Rouge. I lived in Louisiana for the vast majority of my life. I still work in Louisiana and travel there often.

I love Baton Rouge and Louisiana, but Franklin is a much better place to live. We can actually send our kids to public schools here, traffic isn't a total nightmare and we don't have one of the highest murder rates in the nation.

I’ll never understand why it matters where you live when you have millions.

You can have multiple homes and have pretty much all you could want.

I agree Franklin is an amazing place. It is now home.....But BR has some nice areas too. It is not as bad as some people say is my point. Knoxville is not much nicer than BR.

Because we're talking about Austin Thomas, who makes about $125k. Not necessarily a salary you can afford to buy multiple homes with.

I was wondering when people were gonna call this line of reasoning out. A suburb on the fringes of the Nashville metro area has less traffic than Baton Rouge proper? NO WAI

I'm sure Austin could live 20 minutes outside of BR anyway if he really wanted to avoid traffic.

(Regardless, I do think he's headed to UT though.)

Even then, in the vast majority of situations, quality of life is further down the list of things of determining where guys in that profession want to go.

If quality of life was the most important thing, then Vanderbilt shouldn’t be struggling in football and Alabama would be terrible.

I agree. Which is why I was skeptical about Thomas going there unless he had a rock solid connection with the coaching staff. Orgeron trusts Thomas "with the keys to the car" (his words). I think it's going to take a similar relationship to pull him out of Baton Rouge first and foremost.

My Knoxville/BR comment was only if everything else being absolutely equal.

You serious Clark? Terrible traffic. Half the population is legit retarded. A mayor that shouldn't be managing a Walmart much less a major city.

Terrible schools. Not really much in the way of industry.

Baton Rouge is a shite hole.

Nope. Independence is trashy.

Private schools. Where rape and sexual assault are white collar crimes.

The rumor I heard was that he was consulted on the search.

I assume he'd have to be exiting LSU to do that.

So that rumor has merit.
