I could be wrong but I don't see the notorious good ole boy club at Auburn being a good fit for Strong.

Auburn is just stalling and interviewing a few people before they hire Petrino. They don't want it to look like they were too eager to hire him given the press backlash that will come. Petrino is the best fit for that job by far.

Strong would be a great hire Auburn. I'd make him an offer he couldnt refuse if I was the AD.

Strong would get suffocated by the Auburn boosters, and Pat Dye. He wouldn't stand a chance in that group.

Jay Tate is saying they have contacted Strong and he expressed interest, which may lead to an interview. So technically, Strong is not lying.

I don't understand why fans don't want Strong. I think he's one of the better realistic hires we can make.

He's got an impressive resume, but it's not a strong as some other candidates... he's actually older than Petrino, fwiw.

Some want an offensive HC since O seems to be eaier to turn around than D.

AU's D is at least a two year rebuild job in the LB corp alone. Plus the secondary need help, Chizik recruited like two safties his entire time at AU. The DL is full of pussies and needs a real coach. Everyone returns along the DL next season, but chizik only signed two along the DL last class. We will be thin there soon. Basically we boned.

He hasn't been interviewed, he likely has been contacted to gauge his interest though. If AU hires strong it means we missed out on 3-4 others before him. He's a good HC but AU wants a more proven HC.

top 10 coaches aren't always just there for the taking like bmfp is right now. auburn can lock him up at a discount price and have that offense turned around in no time.

And if that buffoon you've got running your athletic department doesn't learn how to keep his and everyone else's mouth shut, you may miss out on a dozen more before finding another stooge like the one you just fired. The last thing you need is another highly respected candidate angrily denying that an interview ever took place when there was apparently only a phone call to gauge interest. Auburn calls him or his agent to see if he's interested and suddenly they're telling people they've interviewed him. They run a coaching search like a chinese fire drill. Big surprise there.

I posted a cpl weeks ago that AU's top three were Fisher, Petrino, and Strong. They like him and are talking to him (they spoke, but not an interview). He's a backup plan and they're doing due diligence. Their list has expanded to include Malzahn bc he's got some influential backing. I still think it ends up as BP if they can't get Fisher.

Not according to Strong.

You've got a coach under contract with another school, and no report of any permission to speak to Strong asked for or given by Louisville.

Will we get to see Tom Jurich call out another Auburn president and athletic director on national television? It was fun stuff last time.
