I don't get how people throw insane amounts of money on these unproven coaches. Sumlin wins 10 and 12 games (year before last and this year) with Keenum and goes 5-7 last year when he is injured. Who is responsible for the 22 wins; Keenum or Sumlin? I think I would want to know for sure before I paid the guy $2.5 million.

didn't he also lose his 2nd and 3rd string qb? Look at those losses, scores were still close for almost all of them I think. Not saying I would want him but let's be fair here.

Yeah, not sure I like this one.

The Martz angle was interesting.

Love has already said that money will be a factor, so...

...that sucks. But, so does the fanbase when it comes to supporting the team.

Yeah, not sold on Sumlin just yet. Someone above had a good point above the record without Keenum.

I thought so too.

Indeed. Often wondered why.

Yes - let's. How about this? "OK, Kevin, we really like what we see but as yet, you really haven't proven that you can sustain your "system" when you lose a key player. Let's do a shared risk type relationship. You come in at $1 million and we will bump you up to, say $2.5 million if you win 9 games next year and we will make you the highest paid coach in the PAC12 by $1 if you win it"?

I thought ASU did better at supporting the team during the Frank Kush years.

Put a perennial winner on the field, be consistent year in and year out, and your fan base will improve.
