A lot of you folks really don’t have a clue. Kiffin’s USC teams of 2010 and 2011 were both ineligible for post season play because of sanctions caused by the Bush scandal. Kiffin pulled off an impressive 8-5 2010 season while having a depleted team. The sanctions caused a loss of 30 scholarships over three years and the NCAA allowed current players to transfer without having to sit out a year. Kiffin was dealt a difficult hand.

So, 2011 rolls in. Kiffin coaches his team to a 10-2 record….amazing under the circumstances. WINS the PAC-12 south division but can’t play in the PAC-12 championship game because of the sanctions. They still ended the year ranked 6th in the nation. Had they been able to play in the PAC-12 championship and beaten Oregon, they very well would have been ranked 3 or 4. That’s how good they were. And they were that good because of one reason…Lane fricking Kiffin.
