In the fricking WAC. People are giving us hell because we hired a Big 10 coach, can you imagine the shite throwing if we hired Petersen?
Boise ain't the Sec rabble rabble rabble.

Fact is he has a better resume than Saban did when Nick came from Michigan State. And Saban brought Lsu out of the cellar, so let's hold off judgment until the guy actually has a chance to coach a game here.
Very good hire!

Papa Smurf has won a BCS bowl, Cartman hasn't. Cartman actually lost to a non-AQ team in his BCS bowl.

I bet when you're quietly masturbating yourself to sleep tonight, the image of Bret Bielema's face will pop into your head, and then you'll get all grossed out and have to force yourself to think of something else.
But Bret's still there way in the back of your mind.

So the director of alumni services sent me this
Dear fellow Razorback:
A few moments ago, Athletic Director Jeff Long announced the name of the person who will lead our alma mater’s storied football program to new levels of greatness: Bret Bielema, the highly successful head coach of the Wisconsin Badgers.
Many football fans and players throughout the country know of Bret. He’s young, innovative, and a great leader. Learn more about Jeff’s selection of Coach Bielema here.
I hope you are as excited about this appointment as I am! Go Hogs!
Best wishes,
I sent this
What happened to Chris Petersen? I am vastly disappointed in this hire and feel it will be the end of Jeff long here in Arkansas. This is not the big 10 or 12, I am very disappointed in this hire.
This is the way I feel

Let's dial down the delusion a bit. Saban out recruited Michigan and beat them on the field. He left little brother because Michigan still got all the media play and better bowls, despite the fact that his last State team was better in every sense of the word. If not for this fact, I would agree, but he already had a rep as a great recruiter when he took the LSU job.
Second, look at the SEC in 2000, and look at it now. The conference was great, but it wasn't even close to the elite force that it is now. Fulmer and Spurrier went from dominating the conference to a has been and middle of the road in just 6 years. Things have changed.
Bottom line, this isn't the Big 10. Bielema doesn't have any rep as a recruiter, other than whining to the media and backing his way into Russell Wilson. Recruiting is what gets it done in the SEC, so he better hire an amazing staff. If he does, then you guys may have something, because he can coach. Coaching alone isn't enough in this league. Just ask Bobby Johnson and David Cuttcliff. Time will tell.

He didn't "back his way into him". Wilson picked his school over several others, as did Danny O'brien after him.

Both the guys you just mentioned are pretty much universally seen as great coaches, especially Cutcliffe.

This
Nick Saban at Mich St: 34-24-1 (23-16-1)
Les Miles at Oklahoma St: 28-21 (16-16)
LSU before Saban and Miles: shite
Bret Bielema at Wisconsin: 68-24 (37-19)

If true, a great hire, IMO, for the piggies.

Sorry Arky fans....that's a pretty shitty hire.
Hopefully he can prove us wrong...but, yikes.

Why is he a bad hire? He doesn't throw the ball or run the "spread"? He wins? He runs up the score? He has 1st rd draft picks even though they're not highly rated recruits? He is a Yankee?
I don't get why everyone is hating the hire? If he followed Miles or Saban it would be a great hire.

LSU before Saban and Miles: shite
Dinardo was at LSU before Saban and Miles. He was 3-1 vs Arky. In the year he got fired, Hal Hunter took over and beat Arky.
So if LSU was shite before Saban and Miles showed up, what does that make Arkansas?

So instead of a Big 10/12 coach you want a MWC coach?
Not bagging on Peterson, he's great and I admit I would probably chose him over new coach. But you can't bag on new coach for his old conference when you want CP.

HawgAlude will come around when we start winning again. I'm happy with the hire and actually surprised that Jeff Long pulled this off. ...and I don't have a problem with him being from the north either...it's dumb asses I don't like.

Horrible for Arky..
Wonderful train=wreck for everyone else.
So now Arkansas is supposed to have the Running game culture of Wisconsin? Against LSU and Bama.
Really?? and this nimrod is going to recuit those Olinemen at Arkansas??? Really?
This is RichRod at Michigan all over again with a much bigger and more ignorant a-hole at centerstage.
