Could just be LSU is hot right now. Teams just want to be mentioned in the same sentence.
I mean Brady has already gotten name checked at Texas. An article today in the Athletic mentioned him as a dark dark horse for the Falcons head coaching job for christ sake.

Someone somewhere is either orchestrating an elaborate distraction troll on LSU football, or Dave Aranda is looking for an exit strategy. One or the other has to be true tne way this is playing out since tne Georgia game.
Or he’s a highly valued coordinator on a playoff team that is drawing interest in varying coaching searches

Ok. So now he’s supposedly looking at job that’s as bad or worse than UNLV, I have my doubts.
They're aren't going to be any great jobs that are looking for defensive coordinators for their head job. Offense is what's hot right now.

Working for O probably feels like and insult to him sometimes.
Please explain why anyone would feel "embarrassed" working for coach O right now?

Not this year but there aren't really many great jobs open period this year either, but there were some notable hires last couple of years:
Manny Diaz - State DC -> Miami DC -> Miami HC
Mel Tucker - UGA DC -> Colorado HC
Jeremy Pruitt - Alabama DC -> Tennessee HC
I think Aranda sets himself apart with the reputation he has garnered nationally, not to mention who he works for (the #1 team in the country). Look at two of the names above. They were successful DCs at two top 5 programs.
If I'm Aranda, I continue to make 2.5MM/year until a P5 job opens up where I can win. I don't think it's unreasonable to think one will open up in the next couple of seasons that fits the bill, and I don't think him being a DC and not an OC is going to be a huge deterrent for someone willing to hire a guy with his resume and reputation.

If you need me to answer that for you then you probably wouldn't feel insulted working for him.

New mexico St? Why not?
Saban's first HC job was Toledo
Urban Meyer's first HC job was Bowling Green

New Mexico state is a waaaaay worse gig than NM and even UNLV

Although I can’t imagine why, this does give credence to the idea he is being moved out. You never heard a peep about him considering these kinds of gigs until now and if he wanted to bail from O he could have done so when A&M came calling. Just doesn’t make a lot of sense.
Ok...so we’ve all watched Aranda’s defenses over the past 4 years. Without getting into any type of pissing match about what he has done or hasn’t done from a production standpoint, what is one thing everyone has said multiple times? Where is the pressure? What was thought would happen was that we would see multiple blitz looks throughout the games, and short of some very rare stuff here and there, you just didn’t see it. Chaisson, and before him, Key, were the primary rushers to get pressure. Someone claiming to know said that in the past few weeks after the ole miss game, Orgeron and Busch had major hands in the defense for the first time. They supposedly had lots of influence in what we did. And to be honest, the blitzes have been far more elaborate and often than anything I’ve seen under aranda. There may be some truth to that, and possibly there is some disagreement with how we were utilizing personnel.

That's a dead end job. One of the worst in the country. He'd have been far better off at Colorado State or UNLV. No way he takes New Mexico

Terrible job. He would not go there.

Maybe aranda didnt like the criticism he received from the fanbase and even orgeron throughout the year.
Its plausible that orgeron was very open and welcoming to dave the first year or two knowing he needed dave to keep the job, and now having brady and critiquing the defense, orgeron is being more honest with him and he doesnt like it

Bowling Green was .339 w/l for the 5 seasons before Meyer took the HC job.
Aranda took his shot at the LSU HC spot, but that is now off the table for years. I don't see ANY other big program tossing him the keys til he proves himself in the "minor leagues".
If he can get NM St bowl eligible within 2 or 3 seasons, he should get up the coaching ladder with ease.

They also won't toss him the keys when he goes and fails at a graveyard like New Mexico or UNLV.

This is so stupid. He's a potential HC at at least 50 colleges and thousands of high schools for one reason or another.

quote:If he has any HC chops, he should be able to get the Aggies bowl eligible... That's all he has to do. Prove he can get the kids fed and to the stadiums on time & get bowl eligible in the mighty Mountain West

Plus, Aranda is tight with the AD, and the ADs guru is Rocky Long... Long eats, sleeps, and breathes Defense.

New Mexico St. and New Mexico are different schools. Also this thought is dumb.
