"We'd like to thank Coach Applewhite and his family for their commitment to the success of the Houston Football program over the last four seasons including the last two as our head coach," said athletic director Chris Pezman. "After a thorough evaluation of our football program, it is my assessment our future opportunities for success are better addressed by making this very difficult decision now."

They're going to go after Aranda.

I don't know that they can lure him away but I think they're going to try.

Better hope Aranda doesn’t go anywhere. We will be in some serious trouble if so

Just stay away from Briles and all will be gravy.

Well Aranda is making 2.5m and Applewhite was getting 1.5m so they would have to dig deep to make him consider a move.

MA only makes 1.5M a year. Ananda 2.5M a year.
If we need to go to 3M a year, I say do what it takes to keep Aranda!
Can’t imagine LSU with Ed O and Steve E in charge without an unbelievable talent like Aranda. Not a good picture!

They fired a guy after two years. Aranda nor any other good coach is going to walk into that disfunctional situation

Houston should go after the guy from Troy. They might have a shot at him if he is looking at a big raise

With this and Richt retiring, I would be worried about Aranda leaving.

Like I said, I don't know that they can lure him away because he would surely get a raise to stay at LSU but I've got to think they're going to make him say no.

I'm not necessarily worried about Miami. I think they'll want an Offensive minded coach but who knows

Would be pretty crazy to fire a coach after two seasons to hire a defensive assistant. Would be crazier for Dave to take it since they don't have any defensive talent on the team and have now shown to have a short leash with coaches.

And you say this because of what proof?
Do you know that Aranda lives in UC and his kids are at Dunham and he loves both?
Or you just talking sh*t like most Ole Miss fans?

I don't see Houston bringing in any big established head coaches and if you're an up and coming G5 coach why would you leave a good thing to rebuild another G5 school.

Knowing you'll only get two years. Why not stick around at your current spot and wait for a P5 job

Aranda hasn't waited this long to go to Houston.

How stupid.

Houston should enjoy returning to irrelevance.

Because being a head coach at either of those schools is better than being a DC at LSU.
I figured that was common sense but since you're a Rantard I shouldn't be surprised at the insecure response you gave.

Stating actual facts is an unsecure response? Interesting perception.
DC at LSU and happy life plus more money is a lot better than being HC at UH.
Miami will not come after a coach without experience.
But if you think I’m a rantard, maybe you should get out of that stupid little bubble you live in.
