Both have their programs rolling ahead of schedule.

Could see Rich back in Morgantown and Bret making the jump back to UW.

Bert is staying, he’s from IL. He’s a hero right now, very happy for him.

Bert has gotten so fat that he is starting to affect the sun's gravitational pull on the earth.

Bert isn't coming back to Madison.

Some crazy shite has gone on, I never thought Chryst would get canned this year (let alone in season), but that's just too crazy.

Isn't there some lingering bad blood between WVU and Rich Rod?

Bert is in a perfect spot at Illinois. Expectations aren't crazy and he has already given Wisconsin and the SEC a shot. I could see him building the Illini into a consistent bowl team and hanging around there for a while.

Bert can stay in Chambana as long as he wants if he consistently wins 8 games a year. Not a bad gig.

He doesn't even need to consistently win 8 games a year. Just consistently make bowl games with 8 or 9 wins every few years

If he won 6 every other year (at minimum) he’d be safe. I’m 20 mins from campus and have no desire to go though.

There is some bad blood. But WVU is desperate to get butts in seats and Neal Brown is awful.

The problem is our shite for brains AD gave him a massive guaranteed contract when he thought Auburn would actually consider hiring him in 2019 after 2 losing seasons at WVU.

It's not a good situation in Morgantown and fans are desperate for some excitement which Rich would bring. He'd also come at a reasonable price.

Doubt either side wants each other + the Wisconsin job is pointing straight at Jimmy Leonhard. No one at the university wants to look further than that. As an aside, it's easy to forget that Bret Bielema was winning conference championships during a time when Ohio State was on probation, Penn State was being blasted by the Sandusky scandal, and Michigan was in the Rich Rod and Brady Hoke era. The B1G was nowhere near what it is today.

At Illinois, Bret Bielema is ahead of schedule because Wisconsin is at its worst since 2008. Going to get even more difficult for Illinois once the B1G reconfigures in 2024 - Bielema should build Illinois into a consistent bowl contender and be happy with the job security.
