re: Any news on whether LSU is getting rid of Cregg yet?

Just as it means. He hasn't proven he can develop a lineman he recruited 3-4 years to go to the NFL. The guys he had success with already sat in systems awhile be to be developed elsewhere whether it was JUCO or Grimes before him.
I don't think any recruit he has recruited has turned out to be anything other than attrition on our roster. And the few big ones he did land are strong attrition candidates right now on the roster. Don't be surprised if someone like Thomas or Bradford leaves.
His evaluations, his recruits on the line and zero have done shite here and plenty of whiffs in recruiting. He's an awful recruiter that's handicapping the roster regardless of what his developmental capabilities are which are debatable right now.
You know absolutely squat about football. Oeaux got rid of not only his DC and OC he got rid of his safety coach and passing game coordinator. This proves Oeaux will get rid of coaches that don't perform or don't fit in. Cregg could have been replaced by many O line coaches but Oeaux chose to keep him. Our line was decimated by attrition and injuries plus two 18 year QB's making them look bad.
If you gonna spread shite like this at least know a tiny bit about what you are talking about.

No, look what the guy dealt with this year and look at how that line was last year. Why do you guy never look at the entire picture.
He is a high quality coach. He also has all his guys coming back next year so if he fails then maybe we can consider your foolish desire then.
Many of you on here would eat your own.

What do you not understand? He SUCKS in recruiting. It doesn't matter what his developmental capabilities are if he's constantly putting Harvard lineman on our OL. Do you understand when you have a limitation on talent it limits your development capability too? Now do you understand?
He should be fired on his OL evaluations and recruiting alone because he's putting LSU behind for years on the line. They're making a huge mistake if they don't somehow at least find someone to recruit better than him to help if they're going to keep him around. You're not making a run at anything when half your starters are from Harvard.

Cregg is not the only OL recruiter. Coaches typically focus on an area, and position coaches are not always the lead recruiters.

Same shite on Tigerfan there are idiots who were ready to fire O last year before he shoved it up their ignorant arses and won the NC. They even went after Cylde Hellaire saying he was too small and slow then he shoved it up their arses.
Now it's Cregg they are afte. They are stupid ignorant no nothing about football clowns.

yea you guys are football geniuses.LSU has had the
following OL players starting this season in the NFL.
Chussenberry center Denver,lewis starting
gaurd Seattle ,E.Pocic center Seattle, Charles started
for washington before being injury.
But you guys are right he cant` develop .
I do agree he needs to be a better recruiter.

WTF? LSU has one player from Harvard.
But regardless, there are 21 Ivy League players on NFL rosters, including 5 offensive linemen. Harvard has the most with 7 players, including 2 offensive linemen. There is NFL and major college talent at all levels of football.
After a full offseason, I predict Shanahan is one of the best centers in the SEC and gets drafted.

you don't like cregg for some reason ?

We're going to have 2 starting next year probably. And Shanahan was the worst lineman on LSU's team this year though I could see the argument for Hines. He's not talented enough to be best center in SEC. That's crazy talk. He was constantly in the backfield all season getting pushed by mediocre lineman in SEC. What has he showed you he can be the best center in the SEC? You must not have watched the same games I did.
Might not get the other Harvard lineman since they're all returning and they might have that hold up on graduate transfers.

They won't admit it, but this is all about their man-crush on Kevin Mawae and Cregg is the barrier to him getting here. And they got their hopes up but were crushed when Cregg wasn't fired, so now acting like petulant children and starting multiple of these threads to cope. Best not to feed the Trolls, they don't do logic.

What don't mean shite is your ignorant opinion. You wouldn't know what a football looks like if someone whopped you upside yo head with one.
Ben Franklin said common sense aint so common and man he was right.

And it’s based on nothing more than name recognition. They’ve never seen Mawae coach OL, don’t know if he can recruit, no program in the country thinks he’s qualified to coach OL, yet these “experts” think he’s LSU’s OL savior.

Who is the last OL coach LSU fans liked?
Hal Hunter?
Hal Hunter?

He’s a fine coach, he’s staying.

You do understand that Wilson isn’t coming here, right? It looks like everyone is returning, so he moved on and we have one guy from Harvard. One is not half of five. And you can say what you want about recruiting Wilson, but if Auburn and Penn St are looking at him and he’s projected to be an NFL draft pick, then he doesn’t suck.
You are the only person I have ever heard say ANYTHING positive about Grimes as a developer of an O Line. Auburn fans warned us that he could recruit but that he was a shitty developer and technical teacher when we hired him. They were right and it’s big reason why he isn’t here anymore. This isn’t to say Cregg is amazing, but Grimes wasn’t good at OL development in 2 SEC stops. That tells me what I need to know about him despite whatever retroactive sunshine you want to pump because of BYU.
It would be nice to have a coach who excels in both recruiting snd development, but with the most to all of the vets returning, Cregg isn’t going anywhere this year. Those two things are tied together, whether we like it or not.
