Any ideas as to why O has not taken the UT Dline job yet?

I hope it is because Miles and O have verbally agreed but thats just wishful thinkin. (O to Dline and waiting on DC to be chosen)
He will be at a University next year. He cannot recruit in the NFL.
(IMHO)
Miles seems to be really secretive. I wonder how many people at LSU actually know whats goin on or wether or not they will tell. Reminds me of how secretive Bo and Woody were in their coaching days. Miles believes in it, you can tell that from the way he keeps everyone in the dark about injuries...who practiced..ect.. This might explain why the pay sites are having so much trouble getting any scoop on the DC story. (IMHO)

O doesn't want to move his family again. He's staying with the Saints or coming to LSU. He ain't going to UT.

I'm starting to think more and more, that Miles is seriously considering him for DC here at LSU and not just a Dline position.

I don't know, just a shot in the dark here, but my guess would be that he HAS A FREAKING JOB RIGHT NOW and that he probably has enough character not to bail mid-season before the job is finished.
Only Petrino has such a lack of character.

Only Petrino
Not only Petrino but how about......the guy that was the coach of the Dolphins. "Im no going to be the coach at Alabama"
That just opened up the door for the Petrino's of the world. Not to mention rewarding coaches b4 they actually earn it at their new job.
Yeah he did not execute the lie till after the season but did not and has not ever honored a commitment. Sorry I know this is not the rant.

Although Saban lied, he didn't leave the team during the season like Petrino did. It's apples and oranges.

O is under contract with the Saints who are still faintly in the play-off picture. It is NOT proper protocal to dump your current employer in mid stream. This haunts you for other jobs down the line.

he has a job
how many do you want to him to have?

Saban was rumored to be a done deal to Alabama around October. He mailed it in the rest of that year. He is no different than Petrino. Actually Petrino had the decency to leave when he got his job lined up.

I am going to be dissappointed if O is not brought on board. The guy obviously loves LSU and was practically begging for a job there.

Bebe as DC? he was his own DC his first 2 yrs. at OM. the results were horrible.

The guy said he was flexible on what his job title would be. He just wants to get on board. Hire the man for fricks sake.

how much of that begging from Bebe is legit? how much is it to get a contract re-do with the Saints? moreover, does Bebe come to LSU just as a DL position coach? that's a lateral move (and that's a stretch). maybe Les throw some bones like as Asst. HC. i don't know.
there is no doubt he has a solid track record as a college DL coach. i'd like to have the guy on board as that. but screw all this chatter about hiring Bebe as a DC though. the stats don't lie. he was a failure.

I don't think he is asking to be DC. He indicated he wanted to coach DL and coordinate recruiting.
His desire to coach at LSU is definately authentic. Word is last season he lobbied for a job at LSU through Bobby Hebert very strongly.

I'd like that hire very much.

They should give the guy whatever he wants to do that in my opinion.

DL, recruiting coordinator, assistant/associate head coach. This would be nice
