In 38 games as a coach at LSU, Les Miles has directed LSU to a loss in exactly ONE game against an unranked opponent.

in 38 games with national championship caliber talent we have exactly 0 championships to show for it..ok we are the Peach Bowl and Sugar Bowl Champions..

but through 38 games he hasn't won anything yet that was the # he threw out.

Are you kidding me? Had Hawaii not won their last game in 2003, we would not have even been in the BCS NC game. Our success in 2003 gives some people amnesia about Saban's other years here. If he had not won in 2003, we would have had people screaming for his head not long after.

2000 - In 2000, the Tigers went 8-4 and won the Peach Bowl. The season was somewhat mired by several embarrassing losses, including a 17-34 blowout loss to the Auburn Tigers, a 10-13 loss to the UAB Blazers, and a 9-41 blowout loss to the Florida Gators.
2001 - Saban enjoyed his best season thus far on the Bayou, as he led LSU to a 10-3 record, including an SEC Championship and a Sugar Bowl victory. After a loss to the Ole Miss Rebels, the Tigers closed out the year with six straight wins, including a win over Tennessee in the 2001 SEC Championship Game, and a 47-34 win over Illinois in the 2002 Sugar Bowl. It was the first outright SEC championship for LSU since 1986, and the first time the Tigers had won the Sugar Bowl since 1968.
2002 - The season opened with high expectations, but a 26-8 thrashing at the hands of Virginia Tech raised serious questions about their outlook. However, the Tigers would rebound to win their next six straight, but after a mid-season injury to quarterback Matt Mauck, LSU lost four of their last six games to close the season, including a 35-20 loss to Texas in the Cotton Bowl, and finished 8-5.
2004 - LSU finished the regular season 9-2, and lost to the Iowa Hawkeyes in the Capital One Bowl 30-25. At the end of the 2004 season, Saban left LSU to coach the Miami Dolphins.

doesn't matter how it happened but it did..i am not advocating we get Saban back but the man did win 2 SEC titles here also..Miles will be judged on how many championships he wins (SEC or MNC)

damn run the guy out of town....since when did winning a sugarbowl lose its significance? we got screwed when we went to the peach bowl. lsu had never won the west outright until this year. a win is a win and a loss is a loss it doesn't matter how its done in the end it all looks the same so don't give me that we barely won bs

i never said to run him out of town but he will only be judged on SEC & MNC..all that talent the last 3 years and we only have a Sugar Bowl trophy to show for it..that is how the National media will judge Miles..now if we win Saturday that will change just a little. until then we are labeled as underachievers..

USC has had national championship caliber talent for 7 years yet only 1 title. Texas as well, uga as well with 0 titles. A national championship isn't a given. Ole ball coach 1 title at his run in florida, bobby bowden 1 title and it took him for ever to get it. People need to stop "overrating" our talent. Stars alone the last 5 years average we are #4 in total talent. USC,Texas and UGA all have had a better star average.

you would be a fool to expect a MNC every few years but all that talent and not a least an SEC title to show for it..

It is hard to win a national championship, ya'll. Unless you go undefeated (which has happened once in the SEC since Tennessee did it in 1998 - that's once in NINE years) it is out of your direct control. Miles can and should be judged by the number of SEC Championships he wins. We will win on Saturday, as Tennessee does not possess that which vexes us most - a running threat at quarterback.
In two full seasons, we have represented the West once and were victim to an outstanding season by Arkansas in the other, and in the third season, we are the best team in the West. Miles has done an outstanding job thus far!
Good coaches don't grow on trees, people. Look at what Franchione was able to do at Texas A&M... And what Archer, Hallman and Dinardo did for us!

And that Hawaii win was just the last of MANY planets that had to align properly to make the 2003 NC game a reality for LSU.
I can remember going to LSU games late in the season in '03 and listening to pre-game...the announcers would start listing all the things that would have to happen, but how it was "POSSIBLE" for us to make it to the NC game. The number of things that had to fall into place was so comical my wife and I would actually laugh out loud....BUT IT HAPPENED!
Now everyone thinks it's easy and we should win it every other year, how quickly they forget!...GO FIGURE!

Not to mention that Georgia had the exact same season in 2002 that we had in 2003. Lost to only Florida and won the SEC, but they watched as Ohio State and Miami played for the MNC. Then, in 2004, Auburn did us one better by winning 'em all, and they watched as USC spanked OU. We were good in 2003, but we were also lucky. This year, we were good, but we were a little unlucky.
Haha, but think about this - we are the only BCS conference team to never trail at the end of regulation this year.

i never said Miles wasn't a great coach but until he delivers at least an SEC title we will be labeled as underachievers

That really has nothing to do with us. If LSU (6-1) and Auburn (7-1) played and LSU won, then we would be co-champions, but we would go to the SECCG.

And he lost to two subpar teams this year because he is married to Hester, Flynn, and Pelini.
He reminds me of John Brady, will always do just enough to keep his job. At least Brady has a Final Four appearence and 2 SEC championships.

how does your math work out in the auburn lsu match up one team would come out with two losses. the point is saban never did that. like i said a win is a win and a loss is a loss, it still has the same effect (UK is 7-5 and AU is 8-4; not great but not terrible)

And will not definitively state that he will remain at LSU to continue that trend.
