Al Golden, Randy Edsall or Marc Trestman over Gus Malzahn?

According to the Miami Herald, that's the case with the current search for the new Miami HC. Are you kidding me?

Seriously, how are these clowns any more qualified for the job than Gus Malzahn is?

Trestman, 54, has coached Montreal of the Candian Football League for three consecutive years, and won the Grey Cup -- the equivalent of the NFL's Super Bowl -- in 2009 and 2010.
Trestman has strong UM ties. He was a UM assistant coach from 1981 through 1984. He coached Bernie Kosar to UM's first national championship in 1983, and is respected for his offensive mind and his ability to develop quarterbacks.
He has remained close with Kosar, who is a UM Trustee.
Trestman also was an assistant in the NFL from 1985 through 2004. In 2004 he coached the Miami Dolphins quarterbacks.
Golden, 41, has resurrected a Temple University football program that was known as the doormat of the Big East for many years, before it was kicked out of the league for not being competitive enough. Temple was 1-11 Golden's first year in 2006, 4-8 his second year, 5-7 his third year, 9-4 last year and 8-4 this season.
Golden -- known as intelligent, extremely passionate and driven -- played as a tight end at Penn State under Joe Paterno and has widely been considered a future candidate to replace Paterno when he retires.
Golden was also the defensive coordinator for Virginia in 2001.
Edsall, 52, has coached 12 years at UConn and led the Huskies this season to an 8-4 record and first Bowl Championship Series berth into the Fiesta Bowl. He was just named the co-Big East Conference Coach of the Year.

The Malzahn love is out of hand. At Arkansas he had Darren Mcfadden, Felix Jones, and Peyton Hillis. He was a coordinator of an 8-4 team last year. This year a golden gift magically appeared on campus and led the team to great offensive numbers. Why don't people let him prove himself after Newton leaves? There's a lot more to being a college head coach than calling razzle-dazzle offensive plays.

I'd take Golden or Edsall over Malzhan in a heart beat. I don't know anything about Trestman.

I'm not very impressed with two Ok years in the shitty MAC. I mean Gary Crowton was considered an offensive mastermind at Louisiana Tech. How is that working out for LSU?

Temple was considering dropping football. That program was the doormat of doormats. Also i think he has the best personality for Miami.

Trestman has done a great job with the Alouettes. He is too quiet of a persoanlity for Miami.
Golden is ready to leave Temple and who can blame him. They got screwed in the bowls this year. He has done a great job recruiting local kids from Philly and South Jersey.

Golden would be a good hire. Known as a very good recruiter and got Temple to 2 winning seasons after Temple had years of winning virtually zero games for several seasons.
