In times of HC transition, I feel lots better if LSU has a strong AD in position to: a)recognize a good coaching candidate, and b)go after him and land him. Do we have such an AD right now? Thoughts?

No. We don't, and it may come back to bite us in the arse because we don't.

This question has concerned me from the time we hired him. Truly, none of has any idea, but this situation could prove it once and for all. I've met him a few times and he's a strong personality guy, comes across as tough (in a good way), but it's not like he was challenged with any situation of this leval at his last job. If I'm Alleva, I would hire a respected football consultant (if there is such a thing) to help me do this right.

Let's see how the guy does on his first big hire before declaring he sucks.

i dont think the AD or LSU higher ups care about winning championships. i think the only thing care about is having a respectable product on the field. if they were to hire someone, it would be the safe route- a guy who can keep the ball rolling, win 9 games per year.

florida hires people to win championships. we are not florida. i pray to god im wrong

He's hired a head basketball coach FWIW. How's that working for you?

We all knew in August RR was on thin ice at Mich. Don't you think Joe A.would have in his desk drawer a working list just in case? Let's hope is has one, but I am not optomistic he does.

I think Alleva can do the job. unlike a lot of people on this board, I think time will prove he did pretty well with the basketball hire. he's already got a s.e.c. championship out of it.

they made a mistake trying to just continue what spurrier did. they whacked him after going 8-5 3 times. then they swung for the fences, gimmick offense and all. hit a couple home runs....

Not according to our AD at the beginning of the season.

At this point I'd take our AD over the Michigan clown.

Agree with you on this.

yes, I disagree...although I'm sure that most fans really don't understand how complex making a hiring decision is, and the number of factors that must be considered, and thus will judge anyone hired outside of the top 5 coaches in the nation as proof that the administration loves 9 win seasons.

Agreed! No matter how good/not good Alleva may be, I think doing this would be one of the first items of business.
