A longtime UH booster that I know said they have been evaluating coaches

for over 4 weeks now. Internally they don't know where Herman is going but they know he is gone. They offered him a raise and he did not accept or reject it yet.
Boosters said it is pretty well known that some key texass boosters in Houston have been in touch with Herman for some time now. UH insiders think he is going to end up at texas.

Got an email from a friend who's an UH Alum...Yurachek expects Herman to be gone within 48hrs.

I love this board. Nobody knows anything and everyone is contradicting the other. One just post UT board will keep strong one more year if he wins and they have not even been in contact with Herman. Now you say Herman is probably headed to UT. But take it for what it's worth. (That means you can say any rumor you want in here).

It's no secret that the UT boosters and fans been on a coaching search but the admin haven't. Also from everything I've read there is even conflict among the boosters.

This is really the only thing that is probably true. The admins at most schools don't reach out in an official capacity during the season. Some of the wealthy boosters have done it and there really isn't any doubt about it.
Yes, there is conflict about Herman at UT. Not everyone wants him... seems the admins are NOT sold on him.

It appears that Texas and LSU is hermans two choices.
It all boils down to where he'd rather live and coach.
I don't want LSU to hire a guy that would rather be somewhere else.
Money isn't an issue. It'll be there for either place.

UT admin (ad, pres, chanc) will make the call. According to reports, they are not inclined to fire Strong...just yet...and have not had contact with Herman. LSU immediately hiring Herman would take pressure off of the UT admin to determine Strong's fate before they are ready.
Never mind that hiring from UH is beneath UT's dignity, Herman is a relative neophyte, who is rumored to be a 2 fisted drinker; the PC Longhorn admin is desperately resisting the appearance or precident of diminished institutional control over this process. They can't let the money win. They. Can. Not.
