Can you enlighten me with what happened between Fulmer and Majors please TIA
Majors had heart surgery and Fulmer was the coach early in the season on an interim basis. Fat Boy went 3-0. Majors came back and went 5-3 down the stretch. Fulmer was, supposedly, behind the scenes (familiar spot for him) actively politicking for Majors' job, which he got due to his hot start, Marjors' meh finish, and some relationships Fulmer had cultivated with power brokers.
You don't have to take our word for it though. Johnny Majors has made it pretty clear he doesn't like Fulmer and the reasons why.
In 2005:
quote:
"I don't pull against those players up there," Majors said at the time. "But I don't have any regard for Judas Brutus, who's coaching up there."
This week:
quote:
"My allegiance is with the University of Tennessee and the players," Majors told The Tennessean. "I cheer for them no matter what. Who the athletic director is does not affect that in any way."

Lol I said I wanted to be enlightened. I can read about the 1992 Tennessee Volunteers football team on Wikipedia as well.

I stand by my statement.
I hope you hire Kevin Steele. You deserve each other.

had you seen those quotes from Majors about Fulmer before? If so, then you didn't need to be enlightened. Majors feels Fulmer went behind his back and politicked for the job. I would say in light of recent events/reporting as it relates to Fulmer doing the same to get the AD job, it's highly likely Majors was right.

A shite load of players were threatening Dickey they would transfer if Majors was retained because he had said a bunch of racist shite around them. Johnny's drinking had gotten really out of hand and he cussed out a bunch of top boosters at some black tie gathering.
Tennessee was undefeated under Phil, Majors freaked out that he would lose his job so he came back weeks earlier than his doctor recommended and immediately lost three in a row to Bama and newcomers Arkansas and South Carolina, blowing Tennessee's chances to win the SEC in the process.
Also you are probably unaware of this but Auburn was coming after Fulmer hard to replace Pat Dye and he would've accepted had Majors been retained. Almost the entire coaching staff would have went with Fulmer to Auburn, including David Cutcliffe.

You guys know not to believe anything from Arkansas Media. They are played as much as anything and so wrong always.

Clemson DC - Brent Venebles.
I'd hire him. He coached under Stoops as well with Oklahoma

I'd take Venebels in a heartbeat

People who say this clearly don’t understand how millions of dollars, interest rates, mutual funds, and investments work.

What's with these schools not having their short lists ready on day 1?
Tennessee's short list was Gruden. He was never going there.

He'd probably be a solid choice. Toledo was good this year.
