They HAVE done much worse. For many, many years now.

If your making 233,000 for sitting on your arse how much do you have to make to actually work? More than Jimbo makes IMO

probably the only guy that had a worse tenure as a HC than O

To be fair, you could have put Saban or Bob Stoops at Baylor back then and they wouldn't have made a bowl game.

But still, he has anxiety issues, can't be a head coach at his age.

Steele makes no fricking sense whatsoever at head coach.

You want an older, established coach to get shite in order and stop the tailspin? Miles is clearly the option here and Steele doesn't even deserve to be mentioned.

You want a hardass defensive coach that can recruit? Venables is obviously superior to Steele.

Right I don’t recall any reports of O crying or getting into the fetal position because things got so bad

I’d go Veneables man, dude can coach.

Kirby Smart and Lincoln Riley have performed well at blue bloods with no HC experience.

The longer it stretches out the less likely that it's Miles.

I'd say it's very unlikely at this point.

I'm holding out hope that Fulmer is just doing his due diligence and there's a reason Miles was the first coach he contacted

By tomorrow?

I’m speculating, but if we hear about Les, it will probably be later in the day or Wednesday. I don’t think we’ll get an early press conference with Miles or anything like that.

if the rumors of all of these interviews are true, it seems to me like Miles really isn't who Fulmer wants to settle on. Seems sort of like a backup plan.

LOL at this thread
Would Tennessee fans be happy with a Les Miles hire?
quote:

God no

quote:

You are joking...right?

You're not really stupid enough to put that out there as a serious question, are you?

quote:

OH frick NO!!!

I mean, TENN already blows. With MILES leading the way, TENN would suck worse than a Hoover

Can't wait to bump that thread.

Also..

I did end up hearing one thing from one of my trusted guys. (However, to be fair no one saw schiano coming outside of haslam).

The plan is to get Gruden to give us a yes or no tomorrow. He knows that’s the deadline. We aren’t going to wait another 1-2 weeks trying to convince him. He either takes this Saban like offer with astronomical amounts of money for him and his assistants or he doesn’t. He told me it’s 50/50. Everyone is cautiously optimistic. Fulmer does have a good relationship with gruden so if it was to ever happen it’s now.
