I've stopped worrying about the CGI - the effects and costumes and all have been fantastic thus far. Remember how bad the Trollocs looked in the early leak.
Also, Loial looks fairly comical in general so I'm pretty ready to just enjoy that for what it is.
We also at least know what the top of his head looks like from yesterday's trailer.

Lord help me I just saw your recent post on the movie board thread - I'm going to hate having to navigate all the nonsense in show threads.

First you mention "Lizard People" being a Deus Ex Machina. I have no idea what you could possibly mean by that. Do you mean the Sharans and Bao/Demandred? If so how are they "Lizard People" and how are they a DEM, they don't come to save the day.
Second you directly mention Rand coming into his powers. Get that shite out of that thread.
You mention Logain surviving and having "boys" that pay the AS back.
You mention specific things AS do and specific things that happen to Rand by them.
You mention things like the Seanchan which are not mentioned in the trailer.
All book spoilers to one MASSIVE degree down to a small degree.
No book spoilers means NONE. Some people don't want to know anything.

I thought he meant the Finn, but not really deus ex machina and were heavily foreshadowed throughout the lead up to that event IMO

I see a loooottt of people pissed about Lan showing emotion like that.
I guess I have to see it in context. I saw Rafe's explanation but its still way way way out of character for Lan. There is no pain except Nynaeve making him emote like that.

Ya, but I just don't really see the point in taking a clip and trying to extrapolate that as some sort of judgment of quality. The show needs to be viewed as a whole IMO. Every cut or change made should based on considerations of what you gain and what you lose - it is just impossible to tell from a clip if a change enhances the overall show and what you may gain from it that wouldn't be there if you hadn't included that change or cut.
If they calculate that giving up Lan being completely emotionless throughout as a way to show the connection between warder and aes sedai instead of just telling us it is really deep - seems like a fair trade off.
If that connection is so deep that it makes Lan, who is generally shown with little to no emotion on the show, it will really drive the point home - seems like a solid way to translate that emotive connection to a visual media IMO.

After seeing the trailer I'm feeling a bit more optimistic about the show.
Still don't agree with some of the casting, but Rafe has done enough to warrant a watch.
And the Aiel are absolutely perfect.

This is all true, but there's another possibility that we're just being misled by the trailer. Happens all the time where they put voice overs with different scenes, or just add in stuff that will never make the show.
Either way, that was a great trailer to lock in excitement for the show after the original teaser trailer was kind of crap honestly.

They aren't that different and ARE hinted at in the books. Pillow Friends are extremely common, and its pretty clear that RJ wanted to make Elayne and Aviendha pillow friends but couldn't pull the trigger on that.
Polygamy is still not seen as overly socially acceptable, like it or not, while Polyamory is increasingly so.
on top of that, Rand spends like 7 books separated from Elayne, for instance. The romantic relationships of WOT are to me, the worst aspect of it and the most in need of improvement.
I have no problem with trying to tighten those relationships up and this seems like a logical and relatively minor change.
