People say that about Rothfuss, but it really hasn't been thaaat long has it? 4-5 years since the last one came out right?
Try 7 years, it came out in 2011. And it took him 4 years to get that book out after The name of the wind came out in 2007.
At least GRRM put out 3 books in a 4 year period with ASOIAF before going off the rails, Rothfuss was a slackass from the start.
To me the worst thing about Rothfuss's current series is this initial trilogy won't really solve anything with the series long term (i.e. the Chandrian) since it's basically just a round about prequel series.
Combine that with Wise Man's Fear being a gigantic bloated mess and I really barely care about the series.

I loved wise mans fear but it definitely could have used some editing. I really didn't need over a hundred pages with Felurian. That was boring as frick

Yep, Kvothe being the biggest Gary Stu ever with the virgin sex skills and the over a hundred pages of author wish fulfillment were beyond silly and tedious. The stuff at the end with the chick who trained him was somewhat boring to me as well and should have been edited. For large parts of that book nothing happens. You could have easily cut out 300 pages and made that a very solid book.

I really enjoyed the world building with the Adem but I still found myself wanting to get back to the university. Btw am I the only one who thinks the Denna shite is terrible. Every interaction is cringe worthy.

You are definitely not alone. The parts with her in the first book are one of the primary reasons I don't hold that book in as high esteem as a lot of people.

Have you read "Outlaw Platoon" by Sean Parnell? If not, give it a try.

Just Finished A Man Called Ove, takes a couple of chapters to get the style down but I enjoyed it, kinda uplifting.
ETA: before Ove, Hue 1968. Highly recommend for military readers, really good same author as Blackhawk Down.

Just finished the last book of Super Powereds. Such a great series. Highly recommend the audio version. Also, if you read the series then you should also read Corpies. I think it fits in between books 2 and 3.
