Thought I’d switch it up. Reading one of the two primary academic books dedicated to Murder, She Wrote. It offers “a deep dive into the show's cultural impact and the cozy mystery genre.”

Unfortunately, I’ve found a few errors that must have made it past the peer review process.

Listening to the First Law chronologically with Sharp Ends short stories mixed in at their appropriate spot. Listened to some First Law audible but have normally read physical copies. Trying to get the full Stephen Pacey experiment.

Just started "Blundering Into The Abyss: The German Empire and the Coming of World War I" by Michael P. Infranco

Interesting read so far. He walks a pretty good line between the scholarly/popular approach to writing.

In Solitary witness. It's about an Austrian man who refused to fight for the Nazis.

It's written by a professor so it is a little academic, but very enlightening.

This was very difficult to find but shockingly I found it free on Internet Archive.

It's hard to believe that even mainstream media used to speak so straightforwardly about such things. Here's a New York times article that covers part of what this book is about. The book author is mentioned in the following quote.

quote:

TEACHER BEATEN, CLOTHING IGNITED; Three Negro Youths Attack White Instructor at Lane Teacher Beaten, Clothing Set Afire

Three Negro youths beat a teacher and set his clothing afire yesterday in the racially tense Franklin K. Lane High School. Frank Siracusa, the teacher, said he had dashed down the stairs to find who had tossed a stone through his classroom window, only to find himself suddenly squirted with fluid from a water pistol that was ignited by a cigarette lighter. He escaped burns by stripping off his flaming coat and jacket, even while the shell frames of his eyeglasses melted in his pocket. But he suffered abdominal injuries from being punched and kicked. He was taken from the school on the Brooklyn-Queens border to La Guardia Hospital in Queens, where he was kept for observation. The 30-year-old chemistry teacher was reported in good condition last night. It was the 14th attack on a white teacher, all alleged to have been by Negroes, in the last three weeks at Lane, according to Harold Saltzman, chairman of the United Federation of Teachers chapter there.
