That book was a very pleasant surprise for me earlier this year. Picked it up on a whim during a Kindle sale and enjoyed it more than I expected

Just picked a random one off my bookshelf. It's not a good book

Reading Table for Two by Amor Towles. I'd never heard of it and didn't know it existed but I love everything I've read by AT so I picked it up blind knowing nothing about it. It's definitely different but I'm enjoying for sure.

the short stories are hit or miss for me. The one about the old man in the park and the guys in the airport really fell flat, but the ones about the painting, the theater, and the forger I loved. Crazy that someone can make a story about writing your name or standing in line be entertaining ha.

Do you like it? The only JK I've read was on the road and I read it as an adult, and HATED it. It was mind numbingly BORING and nothing happened; the entire book was thinking ahead to driving across the country again.

We're in New York...but man CA would be cool let's take a trip.
Yeah the west is neat, but I miss the big city lights of NYC let's drive back.
Man the city is cool but warmer weather would be better, let's go there.

Maybe if I read it at 19 it'd have resonated differently.

Reading Mark Greaney's latest Sentinel. Not a Gray Man book, but entertaining nonetheless

Medicine and the American revolution - Dr Oscar Reiss

( it’s interesting if you’re into it but also ambien on the page.. whew it’s been a slog to get through and it’s only 250 pages)

Then going to Washington’s Crossing by David Hackett Fisher

On an American revolution kick at the moment

Only a third or so through. The chapters are very brief, like 1-3 pages long so the pace is good. Not nonstop like on the road, which i liked but can see how it comes off as drivel.

Went back and re-read the Last Policeman trilogy by Ben Winters. I really enjoyed it.

Is that the basis for the Netflix show Delicious in Dungeon? That was a fun show

Well, I’ve spent the last 15 minutes crying over the ending.

It’s maybe my favorite I’ve read this year so far.
