to a kid?
I have never read the books as a kid. I am a big C.S. Lewis fan and read alot of his works, but I wasnt introduce to Nornia until I was an adult. I have a few nieces/nephews who like to read and would probably love the series. Thanks!

I would say maybe 8 or so. I can’t remember how old I was when I first read them but I remember being pretty upset about Aslan getting killed. I quit reading the book for about an hour in disgust.

I was in the 1st grade when I first read "The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe" and over the next couple of years I read the entire Chronicles of Narnia series.
Not sure about The Chronicles of Nornia, though...

Youngest of my kids to participate in our family read of Narnia was probably 4 at the time.
We also did The Hobbit around the same time.
As soon as they are old enough to understand most of the words is probably a good time to read it to them.
Remember that for most of human history, death was something with which the average child had more familiarity than the average 30 year old does today.

It really depends on the kid. The story is great for 8ish, but if your kid is a still learning to read, maybe hold off on just handing him/her the book.

We’ve read most of them at 4-5

7-8
If your kid wants a break at some point during the series Roverrandom by Tolkien is a good one to throw in there.
The Chronicles of Prydain is another good "go to" around that age.

I read it when I was pretty young. Think I got into it after reading a bunch of the Redwall series.
