I understand what you're saying and the foreshadowing was certainly there. However, I'm not sure Joe viewer jumped right to cannibalism like people were calling for the minute Beth was kidnapped.
so just because some people can't see it that means all people have to see it a certain way
I mean suppose that someone who didn't read the comics said that it was 100% certain that these people were cannibals?

Coco needs to give up his reign as spoiler nazi to someone who watches talking dead IMO.
Or just adjust the rules so nothing on talking dead can be discussed as well.

On the car with the cross that kidnapped Beth anyone think it might be Ezekiel.

From the Help Board thread.
As readers, we have to be better than this. We can't give little hints like this. It may not seem a big deal to some of you, but none of these things should have happened. I'm not saying LA did anything wrong yesterday, other than perpetuate the problem by arguing with Coco, but the little "hints" given can lead to spoiler type stuff being said.

Here's a quote from Dorothy on how the Comic Readers have messed up the nonReaders view:
quote: From the "NO SPOILER" threads this season I have found out these scenarios might be introduced sometime in the future:
--there is some (probably bad) group out there called the Hunters
--there's a really bad guy named Nagin/Neghan who may or may not appear sometime in the show (when Joe was introduced a few episodes back, I actually began to speculate that he might be this mysterious Negan guy)
--cannibalism will possibly occur...this was hinted at by some posters several episodes back. Yeah, it might have been an inevitable situation in a post-apocalyptic world, and some of those speculating about it may have been non-readers, but some people seemed to know this would happen in TWD episodes coming up soon.
--Abraham is a good guy, and he will probably be around for a while. This was probably obvious given that the actor they cast to play this part isn't a complete unknown, but confirmed by people exclaiming his name before he was introduced, doing the when he came on screen and comments shortly after his introduction.

All the things listed there were mentioned in Talking Dead. They specifically said they want Talking Dead to be discussed in the threads.

Always mentioned on Talking Dead AFTER it aired in the episode though. They would sometimes talk about how it relates to the comic story line. It's simple really. Just stay in the comics thread and all is well.

No, Negan's name and character was discussed on Talking Dead. He's not in the show yet. Cannibals have been discussed on Talking Dead in relation to Terminus. According to the fools in the non-reader/non-Talking Dead thread it's not obvious cannibals are at Terminus.

All because of the comics. Negan's base was called The Sanctuary so people started throwing his name out there when Terminus and Sanctuary were used in the same sentence. As for the cannibals, again it's only discussed because of the comics. For people that don't read the comics and stay off of message boards it wouldn't be as easy to make those assumptions. That's why I'm saying the comic stuff needs to always be kept separate both here and on TTD.

i missed all the drama.
i'm no spoiler nazi but i know a few and respect their rights.
as a book reader and a show watcher i don't know that i'd jump to cannibalism with terminus. i can't say for sure b/c i know they exist in the books so in my mind its a possibility (even though it's well known the show differs on many things).
if all i saw was: BBQ and the scene where they run past that boneyard then sure, i'd probably get to cannibals as a possibility. especially with the parallel of rick showing carl the "trap" and terminus essentially being one. one could easily make the connection that both traps are for food. add in the fact that they wanted them alive and it makes even more sense.
but that weird candlelit culty type room would maybe throw me off that path a bit.
and i'm guessing the writers are trying to keep people guessing too.
i'm hoping its both. a cannibalistic cult.

But it isn't kept separate on the Talking Dead.
Thus it is fair game for that thread unless they add no talking dead discussion as a rule as well.

Good point but at least wait until TTD talks about it first.

All of what you said, I'm in agreement. If you think what you're going to post is going to be spoilery then don't post it. If a show watcher comes to a conclusion that's from the comic, play off of it and say "oh I didn't even think of that," and then speculate from there only using confirmed info from the show. If something from TTD comes up, let it come from the show watchers, not us.

Maybe so. I'm not saying those people might not be dense. I'm just saying that if you saw what we saw of Terminus you probably would've just thought sacrificial cult. I don't think everyone would've immediately thought cannibals if it hadn't been getting talked about the entire 2nd half of the season.

j/k, I actually got my undergraduate degree from Birmingham-Southern. There was a little reading involved.

What cracks me up is when someone points out a spoiler by quoting it and then asks the person who typed it to delete it.
I'd wager the majority of the board would have breezed past the initial post, but because one person called attention to a "spoiler," more people saw it.
That's why I never respond to potential spoilers in those threads. I try to get the poster in the reader thread to ask them to edit. If they won't edit willingly, then I'll RA, but I like to give people a chance to fix their own mistake before crying to admins. It's the approach I use in the GoT Middle Ground thread and it worked well last year. Oddly, when you treat people like adults, they tend to respond like adults.
