It was the first real book I ever read. I used to read it all the time, but haven't in years. I think it might be time to dig it out again.

It was also the first real book I ever read. The old Disney movie was great too.

Cartoon was my favorite movie as a kid. Didn’t realize it was based off a book until a few years ago. Got treasure island and read it. Really enjoyed it. Watched the cartoon on D+ now need to watch OG

Great book that really "created" a lot of the concepts of pirates we see today. The Disney non-animated movie is pretty boring, tbh.

Read it. It's as good now as when I first read it as a child.
You'll more likely be concerning yourself with black spots than Black Sails from here on out.
(Other than the first painting, by Howard Pyle, all others are N.C. Wyeth's illustrations for Treasure Island done around 1910. Wyeth was a pupil of Howard Pyle who gave us many of our now popular images of pirates in his Howard Pyle's Book Of Pirates circa 1903.)
