I do not think they do that. If so, that would be a pretty radical change. I definitely think they go to the Blight and there is a One Power moment there for our friendly neighborhood Dragon Reborn. But they Eye of the World battle in the context of the rest of the books is sort of worthless and makes little sense, I bet it will be changed.

I'm putting my money on the Perrin thing as to what BS had reservations about.

Ya i mean it all plays out the same with going to the blight and have a one power moment and all, but instead of defeating forsaken they just do the Tarwin's Gap thing.

Another possibility is that they don't do the whole dark one storyline from the first book, the dreams and the battle with forsaken and instead it is more just about stopping the attack at Tarwin's gap. Mainly because the second book ends in a very similar way.

This was one of my issues with the first few books. They all ended similarly. Started to become a repetitive formula, which is what bothered me most about the Harry Potter series

Lol read whole thing don't skim through books do pick up and the ending was not satisfying but it ended.

It's definitely my favorite series of all time it's what got me addicted to reading when I was 12 or 13 years old.

Rand and Matt's versions are more entertaining.

Matt's part in the ending made me pretty mad I thought he was going to play a bigger time than he did but in all Perrin matt did awesome in the end last book is awesome.

After having finished that series, I said 'never again'.

I've read the entire series six times now.

Then again I've read the Malazan series ten times.

Holy crap man. I've read books 2-5 of that series 4-5 times, and read books 2-7 of WOT 5-6 times, and even I think that's excessive.

Wow. If that includes the side novels; that's crazy.

If you like formulaic writing, laughably bad dialogue and characters, all for the sake of “muh world building and hard magic systems” then you do you man. Doesn’t change the fact that it’s a fantasy series written for kids

I'm halfway through my 3rd malazan read. I've probably read book 1 through 7 or 8 of Wheel of Time almost 10 times though.

Lol @ peepdip - doesn't even know what a hard magic system is.

That said I certainly discovered WoT when I was in junior high and it does start off with some YA elements. But it quickly develops into something much more, pushed tons of boundaries and was ahead of its time in a lot of ways.

I've honestly probably read books 4-6 about ten times myself, though that was mostly because I did rereads every time a new book came out up until around book 9 or so (and there not being as much decent fantasy back then).

I don’t even like fantasy, but I can at least appreciate authors like Roger Zelazny and Jack Vance. Brandon Sanderson is like the Paw Patrol of fantasy

I find them the human elements are extraordinarily well written by a man with a true personal understanding of the warrior ethic.

I've spoken with many readers who dismiss it because the violence and sex largely happens off screen, and they grown used to the more modern books that lay it all out for shock value. That doesn't make it adult, that just makes it lazy.

Not that I'm accusing you of that. But most I've spoken to who didn't enjoy it came back to its being too goody goody

Good thing this is a Robert Jordan series then.

To the rest of your comment, there is a lot of depth in the development and portrayal of Rand, Moraine and many other characters.

I love Zelazny and many other authors as well fwiw. Sanderson isn't my favorite, his characters seem to lack something for my taste and don't grab me a bunch but I enjoy his books well enough -just not stuff i anticipate rereading unless it jumps up a notch.

Calling something a kids book isn’t always referring to a lack of sex, violence, and profanity, that’s usually something people say when they don’t read adult literature.

It’s about being written with the simplicity of a kids book both in structure and prose, with corny, lazy dialogue.

Who’s extremely similar to Brandon Sanderson, which is why he was chosen to finish the series.
