Long Non-FictionPosted by Sneaky__Sally

Looking for some really good and long non-fiction, mainly history but excellent biographies will also do.
Stuff like SPQR, Rise and Fall of Third Reich, Citizens, etc.
Not too picky about subject matter - something on Ancient China would be awesome. But anything well written and with a big page count.

Ian Toll’s Pacific trilogy would be long. It’s 3 books but really just one long one.

Check it out and read other reviews.
They are 644 pages, 656 pages and 966 pages
And they are so easy to read.

Came here to post that. THe only long non-fiction I've actually enjoyed. Most others I've tried are just too much to digest and written too dryly.

The Last Lion, the three volume biography of Winston Churchill by William Manchester. Manchester wrote 2 1/2 of them. He died before he finished volume 3.

David McCullough's Truman biography is just over 1000 pages. Very good book. You'll learn lots about 20th Century American History as well as about HST.
