I don't remember meera having any special powers though.

Edric Dayne's father does, as well as Allyria Dayne
Edric is Jon's milk brother, correct? Isn't he the one who told Ayra who Jon's mother was?

You would think that if Jojen was smart enough to see Bran in his visions (who has special powers) then he would be able to realize his own sister (or non-sister, in this case) had powers, as well.

Jon, Dany and Tyrion or Bran

Yeah, but Edric is too young to be trusted such information.

I started rewatching the past seasons on Saturday. Anybody else been rewatching this week?
Posted on 4/7/15 at 9:00 pm to iluvdatiger
Yep, I've rewatched seasons 1, 3 & 4 recently...and out of order
. I need to rewatch S2.

3 and 4 rewatch for me.
if I had never read the books GoT would be the greatest TV series of all time I'm sure. But it does get worse for me each season. I definitely liked book 5 better than 4, so maybe the show will turn out the same.

New review out for the first four episodes of S5 from a hardcore book reader like all of us. I was actually encouraged by his review and tend to think a little bit like him, as well.

I also just didn’t trust television, even creatively assured television like Game of Thrones, to tell as complex and layered original stories as the books. Well, I’m glad the demands of my job (such heavy demands!) ultimately required me to watch the new season, because I suddenly don’t really care if I’m going to get spoiled. (And, really, likely wouldn’t even know for sure that I was getting spoiled until the next book comes out, which at this rate won’t be until I’m old and senile anyway.) It’s actually rather exciting not knowing where the story might be heading, to watch the show almost as someone who’s never read the books has watched the last four seasons. Bring on the new stuff, I say, as long as it’s this good.

OMLandshark breakdown in 3....2....1...

As ever, there are some concerns about how much time the show is able to devote to each plot thread—seasons past have felt like short-shrift highlight reels rather than fully realized stories. But Season 5 does, so far, feel in some ways the most well-rounded season since the first, more confident to ditch side plots that, while cherished by book fans, only serve to weigh down and distract the series. I’m wary of telling you what in particular has been excised or elided—now that it’s moving past the books, it’s suddenly much easier to spoil Game of Thrones for a lot more people—but I can say that the surgery has been carefully, expertly done. There are some big cuts, for sure. But nothing so far that’s drastic or damaging.

That dinner party was great. Starting at 3:30, I just lost it.

I've watched 2,3,4 over the past month, but skipping around a lot.
I still smiled when Joff died and shook my head when Oberyn was smushed.
Of all the things they've changed in the show I wish him dying was one of them.

But when, in one lovely scene in this new season, two characters find themselves in an old, old crypt and one of them shares a faraway memory with the other, one that has grander implications than they can likely imagine (but we can!), the series whispers with Martin’s same melancholy magic.

Yeah, but there really is no other way to show that arc.

There isn't and that sucks. When I first saw Pedro I didn't think he'd be any good. I was wrong.
Now, which 2 characters are in those crypts?

Wasn't there a picture floating around of Sansa and someone else in the Winterfell crypts a while back?

Was that pic with someone kissing her neck?
